MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
The first quarter may be over, but our journey is far from over. We encourage our students to continue working hard, embracing challenges, and striving for excellence in all that they do.
ART SHOW
The CMS Art Department will have an Art Show on Thursday, November 02 from 4:30-7:30 in the cafeteria. If you are attending conferences, we look forward to seeing you there and celebrating the incredible artistic achievements of our students. Their creativity knows no bounds, and we are eager to share it with you. Students will be notified next week if one of their pieces of art will be displayed in the show. Look for a letter from one of their Art teachers.
SPIRIT WEEK
Next week, October 30 to November 03 will be a CMS Spirit Week. The weekly themes are posted below. Excellent work from our students in Mrs. Deihm's tech classes for creating posters and a video detailing the themes.
TUESDAY, October 31, I will send a link to view our Halloween parade. We were fortunate to have amazing weather and energetic volunteers today during our Halloween festivities.
I am sure the students would LOVE ANOTHER Browns victory recess on Monday! Three in a row!
-Mr. Tomco
Chardon STEM, Goes RED
The American Heart Association is working to engage more women in STEM through STEM Goes Red. The program draws from the association’s strong legacy of science, education, and discovery to help propel young women into rewarding STEM careers.
STEM Goes Red brings interesting careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to life for young women. By giving students access to leading employers and experts, they have the chance for an insider look at what they do. STEM Goes Red attendees gain firsthand experience, connect with inspiring professionals, and learn about jobs across STEM fields. Students can walk away feeling like a whole new world of STEM has been revealed — a world in which they can truly love what they do and make a tremendous impact.

Your child will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) during the window of November 6-10, 2023. The Ohio-required whole-grade testing screens all students for potential gifted identification in Superior Cognitive Ability and Creative Thinking Ability, and it also provides information about students' instruction strengths and needs. Following the screening, individual student results will be sent home with your child. Please contact your child’s school for exact testing dates and times. If you have questions about the assessment, contact megan.kinney@chardonschools.org.
