Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the new school year approaches, I wanted to share some important updates and upcoming events to help ensure a smooth start for everyone.
5th Grade Orientation
We are excited to welcome our new 5th graders on July 30 for an orientation event. From 2:00 to 5:00 PM, students will have the opportunity to get to know each other, their teachers, and our school building. They will learn how to follow their schedules, understand grading, and become familiar with DMIS expectations. From 5:00 to 6:00 PM, we will welcome families for an outdoor cookout. Please register to attend this event so we can ensure we have enough food and materials for everyone.
Open House
The DMIS Back to School Open House will be on August 8 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. During the open house, families can pick up schedules, meet their teachers, and get more information about the upcoming school year. For more information on coming back to school, please click here.
Annual Notifications
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, please remember that all annual notifications must be completed in PowerSchool this year. If you need assistance logging in to complete these documents, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Your cooperation in completing these notifications is greatly appreciated, as it helps us ensure we have the most current information for your student.
Additionally, please take a moment to review the WPS Parent & Student Handbook to familiarize yourself with important policies and procedures for the school year.
Student Schedules
We are almost finished setting up student schedules in PowerSchool and will be mailing them at the beginning of this week. Students can also get a copy of their schedule by registering for 5th grade orientation or picking one up at our open house on August 8.
