Dear Everitt Families:
I'm so proud of our students for the way they showed up for CMAS! Below are a few photos of recess and some fun activities that we did each day before testing. We are working to complete makeups in the next few weeks for both ELA and math. Next Tuesday, our amazing 8th graders will do the CMAS science tests. We know they will rock it, too!
On May 12th, we will be having a day-long wellness day. We are looking for people who can help provide sessions for our students that relate to all components of wellness: physical, emotional, financial/futures, and community. If you can help, we'd love to hear from you! Please give me a call or send me an email.
Our first equity and culture task force meeting will be next Thursday from 2:45-4:00 in the library. If you've committed to the task force, we will see you then! If you'd like to join us, please reach out.
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!

CELEBRATIONS!
Myles E. - I am so impressed with the hard work Myles has demonstrated in ukulele class. He has worked especially hard in the last few classes to achieve his next level of ukulele skills! In addition to this, Myles can brighten one's day with his thoughtful words and smile. He always asks how I am doing and seems to genuinely care for others. Myles, thank you for working hard and brightening my day!
Brandon W. - Brandon came into class not believing he could play an instrument. Throughout the semester however, he has really shown a willingness to play, as well as, demonstrated some impressive skills. He is in fact a musician! I always appreciate his willingness to do the right thing and rise to the occasion!
Alyster B. - Alyster is a remarkable musician who asks higher level questions. He does this to become a better musician and critical thinker. His sense for music is impressive and I have truly enjoyed having him in ukulele to lead in music theory discussions.
Vuk B. - Vuk has the best spirit and heart! Even when it isn't his scene in the musical, he is practicing the parts and leading everyone by his example. He takes his work seriously and it shows in everything he does. I am so grateful to have him as a lead in the musical because he demonstrates what hard work looks like. Vuk, you are an absolute joy to see everyday!
Phoenix M. - Phoenix took a brave risk in leading the class in warmups. Her leadership guides others to do the right thing and she seems to make everyone smile in the process. I am so grateful for her genuine concern for me as her teacher, and I am grateful to have her as an amazing addition to this group. Thank you for the smiles, laughter and making my heart full with your kindness and thoughtfulness.
Gracie N. - Gracie is always on task, always brave enough to share her ideas and answers. I am beyond grateful for her consistent leadership in choir. It means so much that you are always doing the right thing and not only showing up, but having the integrity to always do what is right.
Ash P. - Ash is always a positive spirit in musical theater. Today he really proved his leadership when I asked him to fix an important scene for his group. The group came back with the incredible force and "stole the scene" with their amazing choreography and singing!
Eli W. - Eli did an amazing job fixing a scene that is very important in our musical. Eli went with the group during rehearsal, stayed focused, and came back to blow us away their amazing dance scene. Way to step up!
McKinley H. - McKinley always works hard in class and demonstrates a willingness to do what is right. Along with her scene partners, McKinley delivered a choreography scene that will certainly impress our audience when we perform for the public!
Mollie W. - Mollie is pure joy. She comes to advanced choir, ready to work hard. Her ideas and feedback for our group is very thoughtful and higher level thinking! I feel incredibly lucky to have Mollie as a student, as she pushes everyone to think to the next level!
Olin W. - Olin has one of the hardest roles in our musical. He is always on it however, and does so with positivity, humor, and kindness. He is here to learn and grow and deliver an amazing musical production! Olin shines on stage and is going to truly impress our audience with this performance.
