Principal's Message
We are moving from February into March this week and with this transition we launch happily into Read Across America Week! Get ready for loads of spirit days! We are celebrating reading by continuing to raise money for Patterson teachers and much needed Chrome book replacements through our school Read-a-thon! Thank you to our PTA for sponsoring our Read-a-thon event & thank you to our School Culture Committee for planning our Read Across America activities.
I would also like to thank many, many parents for joining our Community Coffee hour last Wednesday! We discussed how important play is in your child's development. On March 22nd we will have our next Community Coffee Hour and the topic will be behavior and Positive Discipline. We will be sharing how we can strengthen our teamwork by sharing the same positive approach both at school & at home.
Last week we had two great assemblies on water conservation & another on traffic safety! We are following up our traffic safety assembly by encouraging all families to find more climate friendly ways to get to school. You could walk, bike or skateboard to school or you if you need to arrive in a vehicle you could come in a carpool. Help your child's class to win the Golden Sneaker trophy by walking or rolling to school in a climate friendly way!
With Warm Regards,
Sincerely,
Kristin Dil
Principal

Middle School transition for the 2023-2024 school year.
Dear families,
The school sites in the American attendance area have been informed by the District that they are moving forward with the planned middle school transition for the 2023-2024 school year. This year’s 5th grade students will be moving to Thornton Middle School for 6th grade. More information will be shared later with families as it becomes available.
Time line for 7th & 8th grade Registration

Education Faire for incoming 7th graders
Enrollment 23/24 School Year
Please watch for a “FALL 2023-2024 Reservation/Registration Form” to be mailed home soon for each student currently enrolled in TK – 6 th grades. The form will not be handed out to parents and serves 2 purposes: it reserves a spot for your child next year at Patterson and also fulfills the District’s mandated annual residency verification via USPS. Please don’t mistake the letter for junk mail and toss it out!
For students who will be moving on to Middle School next year, Patterson will collect the form and proofs and communicate with the Thornton Middle School to confirm a space will be reserved for next year. By submitting the required form and Residency Proofs by February 24th, your child will be reserved a space for next year.
*The forms must be returned to the school that your student currently is attending; if you have a student overloaded to another elementary school, please return it there.

District's School Accountability Report Cards (SARCs)
"Federal and state laws require school districts to make accountability reports available to the public online. Accountability report information is based on data and information from the previous year. Dates will run one year behind.
We are pleased to inform you that our district's School Accountability Report Cards (SARCs) are available in English, Spanish, and/or Chinese, as required. You may view the SARCs on the Fremont Unified School District web site at www.fremont.k12.ca.us under Resources & Contacts/Reports, or by visiting your school office. You may also obtain a hard copy at your school office. To answer any questions regarding the SARCs, there are designated personnel available at each school site.
For more information about SARC requirements, see the California Department of Education (CDE) SARC web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/ac/sa/."
