Attendance Matters at The Heights!
Eagle Up: Celebrating Success and Spirit at Eastwood Heights!
Dear Eastwood Heights Families,
A huge thank you to our community for making our Fall Festival a success! It was an evening filled with food, fun, and games, and we loved seeing our families come together to celebrate.
This week, we are excited to celebrate You Matter Week in support of living drug-free. Please check the flyer for event details and dress-up days to participate in the festivities.
Tuesday, October 29: On Tuesday, join us at Peter Piper Pizza for Family Night! Students will have the chance to sign our Drug-Free and Be Kind posters as part of our campaign to foster kindness and healthy choices. Brain Power Academy continues on Tuesday and Wednesday as well, so make sure your students are ready for learning and fun. Also, join us for an Informational Meeting on Drug Awareness from 8:00-9:00 AM in Room 102. We encourage all parents to attend this important session.
Thursday, October 31: Thursday is an exciting day with many activities lined up! Students are welcome to come dressed in their costumes, but please remember—no props or masks. We'll be hosting a Character Parade, and our Pre-K students will be trick-or-treating around the school. We are still in need of candy bag donations, so if you can, please send a bag of candy with your child. Our PTA will also be offering costume photos for $5 (cash only). Don’t forget—students will have early release at 11:30 AM.
Friday, November 1: To wrap up the week, on Friday, November 1st, every student in attendance will receive a bag of popcorn and a coupon for a personal-sized pizza from Peter Piper Pizza!
We are thrilled to share that our GT 3rd-5th grade students participated in Q-BEC, a full-day cooperative competition involving three investigations. Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade teams, who will proudly represent our campus in January!
We also want to give a special shout-out to our Eagle Robotics Team, who competed this past Saturday. We are so proud of all their hard work, dedication, and for representing Eastwood Heights with excellence!
💯As a friendly reminder, please monitor your child’s grades weekly through the Home Access Center.
Let’s continue to Eagle Up and have an amazing week ahead!

Día de los Muertos celebration (optional event)
We are excited to invite you to participate in our Día de los Muertos celebration on November 1! This vibrant Mexican tradition honors and remembers loved ones who have passed, through beautiful altars, offerings, and colorful attire.
To make this day extra special, we encourage you to dress in traditional attire inspired by Día de los Muertos. This can include:
• Calavera (sugar skull) face painting: Decorate your face with intricate, colorful designs in the style of the famous sugar skulls.
• Traditional Mexican clothing: Consider wearing bright, floral embroidered blouses, skirts, or dresses for girls, and guayabera shirts or charro outfits for boys.
• Flower crowns: Adorn your hair with marigold flower crowns or headbands, a symbol of the holiday.
Please remember to be respectful of the cultural significance behind this holiday. Costumes should celebrate and honor the traditions of Día de los Muertos rather than caricaturing them. If you’re unsure about your attire, feel free to ask for guidance!
We look forward to seeing your creative and respectful participation as we come together to celebrate this meaningful tradition.
