PTA Special Meeting 10/21
Our PTA will hold a virtual special meeting for all membership on Monday, October 21, at 6pm over Google Meet (join the meeting here) to vote on whether the Round Rock ISD Council of PTAs should publicly endorse the Round Rock ISD Bonds. This will be the only item on the agenda; no other business will be conducted. The outcome of the vote will be expressed at the Council meeting later this month. Please note that this is not an informational meeting on the bond and we will not be answering any questions about the bond itself. Please come prepared to vote - you can find all information about the bond here - note that the district has added another informational session before our meeting.
School Safety
BCE Families,
We have a multitude of drills we hold each semester and school year. Students participate in fire drills, secure drills, lockout drills, and shelter-in-place drills.
Fire Drill - Students walk quickly to exit in the building in case of an emergency.
Students walk to a designated area with their classroom teacher. Key persons check to make sure all students and staff are out of the building. Some fire drills will be announced, some will not.
Secure Drill - If there is something unsafe happening in the neighborhood, our front
office is alerted by local authorities. We will be instructed to place the building on
“secure.” We operate as normal within the building, but we do not open the doors to anyone. If you come get your child during this time for an appointment there will be extra precautions to get them safely to you. If you come to eat lunch, we will not be able to grant you entry.
Lockdown Drill - In the event that a threat enters our school, we will go to a lockdown.
Lockdown drills will always be announced to students and staff prior to having the drill in order to lower adult and student anxiety.
Shelter-in-Place Drill (Severe Weather) - Students will move to interior hallways out of
harms way.
Our specific drill dates, times, and maps will never be shared with the community, in case anyone who got ahold of them had malicious intent. If you have more specific questions regarding our drills or emergency plans, please reach out to Hannah Parker.
