M-Step testing in 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades will begin when we return from Spring Break (see the testing date windows below). Students will be tested in the areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics. Additionally, students in 4th Grade will be tested in the area of Science and students in 5th grade will be tested in the area of Social Studies.
Attendance is very important during these testing days! Please make sure that your child arrives to school on time and please avoid early dismissals during the testing days. If your child is unable to come to school, we will have scheduled days for students to make up testing during the testing period.
Please assist your child in helping to perform his/her best by:
- Having your child get a good night's sleep.
- Having your child eat a good breakfast, packing water, and healthy snacks.
- Encouraging your child to do their best and assisting to relieve any anxiety associated with testing. Positive, "You can do it", messages are helpful :)
Should you have any questions about M-Step testing, please contact your child's teacher. We thank you for helping to prepare your child for the M-Step and ensuring attendance during the testing periods.

Parking Lot Reminders and Information
Each morning and afternoon your continued cooperation and alertness in our parking lots helps to keep students safe. We appreciate your efforts in helping us maintain a safe environment for children. Therefore, we wanted to take a moment and remind you of our Parking Lot Guidelines. We have also included a map (see below) that we hope will assist in understanding traffic flow, pedestrian movement, and parking.
NSE Parking Lot Guidelines:
1. Constantly watch for children!
2. Drive slow and be patient!
3. Pull as far forward as possible in the parent load/unload loop.
4. Remember to drive slow in the neighborhood as we have many students that walk to and from school.
5. Heed our Crossing Guards' directions.
6. Absolutely NO student drop-offs in the Bus Loop.
7. If you pull in to park (rather than using the parent load/unload loop) please park in the designated Parent Parking area (see map). Also you MUST walk your child to crossing area onto the sidewalk. Do not allow your child to walk through the parking lot without an adult escorting him/her.
8. If you arrive late (8:25 a.m.) you must come into the school to sign in your child.
Again, thank you for your attention to student safety. We appreciate your cooperation and support!
Student Information System - Parent Vue
The ParentVue portal is an important part of our Student Information System. In this portal parents can view their child’s attendance, transportation information, academic progress, and update important student information like phone numbers, emergency contacts, etc. As we continue to work toward paperless communications, please plan to use ParentVue regularly.
It is important that you take the time to set up and activate your account if you have not already done so. You will need an activation key to do this. Here’s how:
1. Email SynergySupport@clarkston.k12.mi.us to request an activation key. Provide the following information in your email:
Your Name
Your Student(s) Name
Your Student(s) Date Of Birth
Your Home Address
Your Phone Number
Also, please make sure to take some time to review the information in ParentVue and make sure that we have the most accurate and updated information, particularly phone numbers and emergency contacts. To access ParentVue (once you have activated your account):
