Molnar's Community Update
August 30, 2024
Wishing all a Happy Thanksgiving!
As we take time to reflect on all we are grateful for, we want to remind our community that there will be no school this Wednesday, November 27th through Friday, November 29th for our Thanksgiving break. We hope you enjoy this time with your loved ones, and we look forward to seeing everyone back next week, refreshed and ready to finish the semester strong! Wishing Comet Nation a safe, restful, and joyful Thanksgiving!

How You Can Help:

Nord Students Making a Big Impact
Mrs. Liming's 5th Grade Class at Walter G. Nord School is making a big difference! Recently, the students embarked on a meaningful community service project, collecting plastic grocery bags to create plarn—a unique, eco-friendly material made by repurposing plastic bags into yarn. This versatile “yarn” can be used for knitting, crocheting, and weaving. Using the plarn that students made, Mrs. Liming crafted sleeping mats that will be sent to a church in North Carolina, where they will be distributed to hurricane victims in need.
A special shout-out to Mrs. Von Kaenel, Nord’s Music Teacher, who connected with the church and has been storing all of the completed mats in her classroom.
Watch the video below to see the students in action, and witness the creativity and teamwork that went into this thoughtful project.
Congratulations to Walter G. Nord School!
