Jet Families,
September has already snuck up on us. The first few weeks were busy getting back into the swing of things with procedures and routines. We will continue to work on these things with our Jets throughout the year to ensure they know the expectations at MCE. We are grateful to know that our parents are working to reinforce this positive behavior at home.
We would like to thank all of our families who were able to make it to our parent night a couple of weeks ago. I hope you gained some valuable information about our school and from your child's grade level that will help him/her be successful this year. If you were unable to attend, below you will find a pdf copy of our student handbook that will provide some of the information discussed. All students will also receive a hardcopy of the MCE student handbook soon to take home.
Just a few reminders....
1. STUDENTS MAY NOT BE DROPPED OFF BEFORE 8:30AM if they are not eating breakfast. If they are having breakfast, they may enter through the cafeteria at 8:20am.
2. Students who are tardy, MUST be accompanied into the school office to be checked in. Students are considered tardy after 9:10am. Also, it is imperative that your child be in school for the entire instructional day. We do understand that there are times that you will need to check your child out early for appointments. However, this is not permitted on a daily or frequent basis. If your child is checked out before 2:30pm, it is considered a half day absence. If they are checked out after 2:45pm, it is marked as early leave. Check-outs after 3pm are highly discouraged. If there a pattern of your child being checked out early, you may be contacted by an administrator.
3. All parents/guardians must have their car tag displayed during dismissal. Parents must stay in their cars. Please do not walk up to get your student in the front or back loop. Thank you!
We have high expectations for learning and believe that every child can succeed at high levels! When we talk about the "Jet Family" that includes you! We 100% believe that family partnerships are vital to student success! We are excited to be a part of your child's educational journey and we are looking forward to a great year!
