Happy Mid-September Independence School and Valley Robotics Academy Families,
We all successfully survived Friday the 13th! It was a great day actually...In the next two weeks we will conclude our first 9 weeks of the school year. Time flies when you're learning, doing and experiencing.
For all 7th-12th Grade Families - If you have not yet created and signed into SchoolLinks to assist your student in College & Career Readiness opportunities and information please take a few minutes and do so. If you need assistance please give us a call. If your 7th-12th student still needs assistance please have them see their Advisor/Homeroom Teacher.
VRA 7th-12th Grade Families. A reminder that you received an email on Friday from the VRA Secondary Staff about the additions to Advisory/Office Hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Independence School Families and teaching staff you will enjoy a two week recess to recharge for the sprint to Winter Break while VRA Families will be in session.
Please continue to look for opportunities to get your student involved on campus and even a time to volunteer or get involved on or around campus. Student engagement and family involvement are known factors in student success.
Reminder: If you need to get ahold of anyone on our site regardless of which program (Independence or VRA) we can be reached at one phone number -- (209) 331-8008.
Thank you for all you do as parent/guardians!

Parents/Guardians of Middle School and High School students
Dear Parents/Guardians of Middle School and High School students,
We are very excited to introduce our new college and career readiness platform, SchooLinks!
All of the SchooLinks features are designed with students in mind to help them become career, college, and life-ready. As guardians, you will have access to SchooLinks through your own account. This allows you to join your students in their career and college exploration process and discuss their future with them.
SchooLinks allows you to have informed conversations with your students by:
- Viewing your student’s career interest, strength, and mindset assessments
- Seeing what colleges and careers your student has favorited
- Comparing college costs and explore expected financial aid, scholarships, and out-of-pocket expenses
