Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year ( See short letter from Dr. Guillaume). Student registration is from Monday, June 3, 2024 to Thursday, June 27, 2024. Annual registration is required for all students enrolling at Vernon Hills High School next year and must be completed by Thursday, June 27, 2024 (this includes for each returning student or incoming freshman).
The instructions below will navigate you through the registration process. If you need assistance you are welcome to drop by Vernon Hills High School or call us during our summer hours Monday-Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. No appointment necessary. The registration support line is 847-932-2200 or email v.registration@d128.org.
Your student's registration is finished if you have:
Part 1: Completed your students online registration
Part 2: Created a Parent PowerSchool Account (if you didn't already have an existing account).
Part 3: Paid registration fees via our web store or submitted a VHHS Free and Reduced Lunch/Basic Fee Waiver Application
Part 4: Proof of Residency if requested
Part 5: Review additional important information and health/dental forms submission
If your student(s) will not be return to VHHS in the fall, please contact us by email at v.registration@d128.org or call 847-932-2200.

REGISTRATION SUPPORT NIGHT 6/12/2024
If you require additional assistance completing any of the registration steps above or need translation in Spanish or Russian, please join us on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 5 PM-8 PM at Vernon Hills High School. We will have members of our staff available to help you complete your student's registration, set up a parent PowerSchool account, pay registration fees, complete a fee waiver, set up payment plans and collect health documents.
Parents play an essential role in helping VHHS provide exciting opportunities for our students. Please consider joining our parent organizations. Additionally, other details about our VHHS parent organizations can be found on our VHHS website.
Login Information
Username is your student’s 6 digit student ID.
Password: Enter your student’s birthdate in the following format: MM/DD/YYYY. Registration Gateway will only accept a birthdate in this format. You must include “/”. (Example 01/01/2011)
Please verify all the information is correct from last year's registration or from your incoming freshman's pre-registration. If the gray areas need to be changed, you can update them when prompted.
Your registration may give you a pending status at completion. It is transmitting to our system. We will contact you if we need any additional information.
Families can locate their student's D128 PowerSchool ID in PowerSchool under the LST information tab or by reviewing the registration instructions we mailed home to the student's address.
A parent/guardian new to Vernon Hills High School needs to create their own PowerSchool account. (Your Hawthorn D73 PowerSchool account can't be used at VHHS.)
- Instructions to Create your D128 PowerSchool Parent Account.
- To link a student to your PowerSchool parent account you will need an Access ID and Access Password for each new student. If you need your student's Access ID and Access Password, please contact us at v.registration@d128.org or call 847-932-2200.
- If you have a D128 PowerSchool account, log in to add a new student to your account.
- Vernon Hills High School District Code for the PowerSchool App is ZMBC.
- Sign in using your existing D128 parent PowerSchool account (or the one you just created) and choose "Balance" from the left side menu. Once your student's fees have been displayed, you may click on "Make a Payment" to be redirected to the web store. Payment plans are also available. Please contact Jennifer.Sheppard@d128.org to make those arrangements.
- The activity pass is being removed. In its place, all D128 students may attend home athletics and many fine arts activities at no additonal fee. Some events (IHSA playoffs, musicals, festivals, etc.) will still require an admission fee.
- A yearbook has been added to each student account as an optional fee. You are not required to purchase this item.
- To apply for a Parking Permit complete the two step process:
- Step 1: You must register for a parking permit by completing the Parking Permit section during the onlne registration process or fill out the Parking Permit paper application (Spanish).
- Step 2: For Juniors and Seniors a parking permit has been added to each student account as an optional $170 fee. You are not required to purchase this item; however, a parking permit will not be issued if we do not also have your student's driver's license and vehicle information. If this information was not entered during online registration you must submit a VHHS Parking Permit Application.
- For Sophmore OR Juniors and Seniors who choose not to purchase a parking permit, parking is available at no cost in the remote parking lot. You must submit your student's driver's license and vehicle information. If this information was not entered during online registration, you must submit a VHHS Parking Permit Application.
- If your family income meets established guidelines (Fee Waiver Qualification Guidelines 2025), you may submit an UPDATE: Free and Reduced Lunch/Basic Fee Waiver Application. If you complete an application and are enrolled in one of the following state benefits, you will immediately qualify for a fee waiver: **Income-Eligible Medicaid, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program),TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families).
**Medicaid Renewal
Your medicaid renewal is due once per year. Follow the steps below to ensure that your account is up to date. Please use the IL benefits link to make sure that your contact information is up-to-date:
Use Manage My Case to access your benefits, check your redetermination due date, and verify your mailing address. If you’re due, renew online right away.
ATTENTION PARENTS, GUARDIANS, AND RECIPIENTS: Please review the Summer EBT fact sheet for families. Contact the Illinois Department of Human Services at (833) 621-0737 or use the Contact IDHS Form for assistance. **District 128/Vernon Hills and Libertyville High Schools Lunch Program is not associated with the NSL Program/National School Lunch Program. Families may be eligible due to participation in other related programs.Families in other programs will automatically be enrolled.
ADDRESS CHANGES
Parents/guardians who have changed their address need to complete the Change of Address Form for Current VHHS Students.
All incoming 9th grade students must have a complete ISBE health physical, dental exam, & immunization record prior to the first day of school.
Options to submit student documents:
- Upload any health related documents to the following secure file.
- Mail all documentations to VHHS: Vernon Hills High School, Attention: Data Team, 145 North Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills, IL 60061.
- Drop off all documentation at VHHS during summer business hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Drop off all documentation at secure 24 hour exterior lock box outside of door 2/bus lane.
The all new VHHS Spirit Store is your one stop shop for Cougar apparel and spirit items. All proceeds go directly to our amazing parent groups.
