Updated Cell Phone Policy
As of Sept. 16, we have 47 cell phone violations. Thank you to all of our students for being responsible and keeping their phone away at school!
To maintain a focused learning environment, we have a clear policy regarding cell phone use during school hours. Here’s how we handle violations:
Violation 1: Teacher Supported
- If a student is caught using their phone during class, they will be asked to place it in the classroom holder for the remainder of the period.
- The teacher will record the incident, and a call or email will be made to inform you.
Violation 2: Teacher/Admin Supported
- For a second violation, the teacher will request assistance, and the phone will be taken to the main office.
- The teacher will log the incident and contact you. The student can pick up the phone at the end of the day.
Violation 3: Admin Supported
- A third violation results in the phone being held in the main office for the entire day, and the student will be assigned a half-day in the RISE program.
- The student can retrieve their phone at the end of the day.
Violation 4: Admin Supported
- For a fourth violation, the phone will be taken to the main office, and you will be required to come pick it up.
- The student will receive a full day in the RISE program.
Subsequent Violations: Admin Supported
- Any further violations will result in the phone being held in the main office, with you required to pick it up. Depending on the situation, the student may be assigned to RISE or face out-of-school suspension (OSS).
Important: If a student refuses to hand over their phone at any point, they will be assigned a full day in RISE and may face OSS for repeated offenses.
We appreciate your support in helping us enforce these guidelines to create a positive learning environment for all students.
