Summer Reading Update
The Explorer Wallet Cards have been emailed to each library's SRP contact. Please email me if no one at your library received the card template. All SRP information and resources are on the SRP LibGuide at https://olis-ri.libguides.com/SRP. LibGuide documents such as the performer contact info and the wallet cards are password protected. Please contact me for the password.

Libraries Transform Toolkits
From Libraries Transform:
With summer right around the corner, now is the perfect time to raise awareness about your library’s summer learning programs and activities. There are eye-grabbing Because statements to post to social media that highlight the importance of learning outside of the classroom: Because the Summer Slide Isn’t Playground Equipment; Because Students Who Read During the Summer, End Up on the Honor Roll in the Fall; and Because Learning Happens 24/7. Additionally, the Family Engagement Toolkit provides many ideas and tips for promoting library services that support families and children’s learning and development all year long.
Teen Summit 2020
The Massachusetts Library System is moving Teen Summit to a bi-annual schedule.
Save-the-Date Friday October 2, 2020 at College of the Holy Cross, Worcester MA. Featuring keynote speaker Adrienne Kisner, author of Dear Rachel Maddow and the forthcoming The Confusion of Laurel Graham.

Jacqueline Woodson at Barrington Books
Barrington Books is pleased to host award winning New York Times best-selling author Jacqueline Woodson for a conversation and book signing on Thursday, June 6th at 7pm at 176 Hillside Rd. Cranston. Peter Quesnel, Juanita Sanchez High School Librarian will be the moderator/conversationalist with Jacqueline Woodson. This is a ticketed event. The $10 general admission ticket can be applied toward the purchase of a Woodson book of your choice, which will be available at the event. Tickets may be purchased through Eventbrite.
May is RI Latino Books Month
It's time to begin voting on the 2019 RI Latino Books Month nominees! Voting takes place through May 30 (paper)/May 31 (online), and all voting materials can be found at www.rilatinoarts.org/LatinoBooksMonth.html. Current YA Books/Organizational Meeting and Annual Highlights
We'll be discussing the newest YA books (fiction and non-fic published bewtween June 2018 - May 2019). Please submit titles you'd like to discuss to Danielle Margarida (use subject line Current YA) by May 30 or bring your favorite new titles to the meeting. This will also be the last YART meeting of the year, so we will wrap up the meeting with our 2018/19 highlights and planning for 2019/20 meetings.

Join fellow youth services librarians to share best practices for sensory story times and inclusive library programs and services. We will be discussing community connections, sensory activity ideas, and programs/services beyond story time.
