Classroom Art Gallery: A Highlight of PTA Support
The Classroom Art Gallery is one of the wonderful projects sponsored by the Evening Street PTA. Thanks to the dedication of parent volunteer Jen Taber, students had the opportunity to explore the work of renowned sculptor Alberto Giacometti. Giacometti is famous for creating tall, slender sculptures of people in motion. Students discussed how he captured movement in his sculptures, then created their own versions using tin foil. The results were amazing!
Upcoming Events:
After Spring Break, the Second Grade will perform "A Barnyard Musical" on Thursday, April 3rd. The performance will take place from 6:30-7:00 p.m., with the Primary Art Show running from 6:00-7:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to experience the beautiful artwork that Mrs. Wetz inspires in the students, as well as the wonderful music that Mrs. Jarzecki has nurtured with the second graders. Even if you don't have a second grader, please feel free to join us for the performance and enjoy the show!
Ohio State Assessments:
After Spring Break, students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will begin the Ohio State Assessments in Math and English Language Arts. Fifth graders will also take the Science Assessment. Our students generally approach these tests with enthusiasm and are eager to demonstrate what they know! Please take note of the testing dates below and mark them on your calendar. Ensuring that your child gets a good night's rest and a healthy breakfast before testing will help set them up for success.
Wishing You a Wonderful Spring Break:
I hope you enjoy a restful Spring Break and cherish the time spent with your amazing children. We look forward to welcoming everyone back soon!
Best regards,
Mary Rykowski
The Second Grade Musical and Primary Grade K-2 Art Show will be held Thursday, April 3rd. The concert time is 6:30-7:00 p.m. The Primary Art Show is 6:00-7:00 p.m.

This month, Eleanor Bedell and D.J. Umali-Barr, students in Ms. Rigali's class, were interviewed by News Depth staff Michael Edelman and Natalie Garcia. This is a monthly advisory group meeting in which the children give their perspectives about the news program. D.J. invited the crew to visit his family's farm where, legend tells, an apple tree was planted by Johnny Appleseed! These two students definitely demonstrated leadership skills during the advisory session.
First graders, Finn Gonya, Mavryk Selikson, William Zettler, and Lucas Piche engineered a bridge for the Hexbugs during library exploration time! They worked together and proved they are thinkers, leaders and friends!
