Hopefully, everyone had a safe and Happy Fourth of July! We have been back in the office getting the summer packets prepared. We are hopeful they will be ready early next week. Families will be able to pick them up at the school office and at the Sunday, July 25th Masses during the folloiwng Mass times: 7:00 am, 8:30 am, 10:30 am, and 12:30 pm (Spanish). If you are unable to pick up the packet next week, we will mail them to you. The anticipation of next year has us all very excited.


Some of you are probably wondering about what mitigations will be in place. We are keeping a close watch on guidance provided by the Archdiocesan School Office and Johnson County Department of Health and Environment (JCDHE). We strictly followed JCDHE last year and hope we receive guidance soon. The last communication we received from JCHDE was that the school guidance was in the final approval process and we should know soon. We will continue to communicate as soon as we receive information.


Please don't forget to come to the Open House this Sunday, July 18 from 5-7 pm. We are thrilled to show off our new preschool and primary rooms! It is going to be so much fun to see everyone and meet some of our new staff. I know we will all give them a big Holy Cross welcome! Bring neighbors, family and friends for some summer fun! More information is provided below! See you then!

FROM THE COUNSELOR’S CORNER…………………..

I hope you are having a relaxing summer with your wonderful children. Summer is going by so quickly and soon it will be time for another school year. This year would be my 35th year at Holy Cross Catholic school.


As I thought about starting another school year, I made a prayerful yet difficult decision. I will not be returning to Holy Cross this next school year as your school counseling consultant. Mrs. Petri will fill that spot.


I am not retiring but will continue as the co-director of the Archdiocese School Counseling Program and will also continue my position as the coordinator of the counseling referral program for Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas.


I will miss all of you and your amazing children but I am sure our paths will cross from time to time. Thank you for all the wonderful support you have given me over the past years and for allowing me to spend time with your precious children.


Please keep me in your heart and in your prayers as I continue my work in the Archdiocese. As always, you and your wonderful children are in my thoughts and prayers each day.
