Monday, January 16, all San Marcos CISD campuses and offices will be closed in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
A Triple Threat – Smiles, Memories and CommUNITY
On Thursday, January 12, all 2nd-5th grade SMCISD students packed Strahan Arena to cheer on TXST Women’s Basketball team. All 2,500 Rattlers brought the energy as the Bobcats defeated Georgia State. Thank you to TXST for opening up your doors to our Rattlers and best of luck to the Bobcats this season!
Buzzer Beater bites the Buffaloes
Rattlers opened up district play on Friday, January 13, with a win over the Clemens Buffaloes, 64-61. Senior, Jayven Cofer, helped the Rattlers secure the win with a buzzer beater. The Rattlers return to action Tuesday night vs. Steele inside the Snake Pit.
Mr. 2,000 - Malik Presley
During the winter break, San Marcos High School Senior Malik Presley accomplished a huge milestone by scoring his 2,000 career varsity point. Malik is a four-year starter for the Rattlers and is being heavily recruited by multiple division-1 schools across the country.
Rattlers Movin' on Up
Congratulations to Jake Darling and Nayeli Granados for signing their National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers. Jake is headed to Boston where he will attend Harvard University! Nayeli will be in North Carolina at St. Andrews University. SMCISD wishes you both the very best!
The San Marcos High School Fine Arts Department is splashing into the new year with their production of The Little Mermaid. Showings will be January 19-21 at 7p.m. with two matinee showings on January 21 and 22 at 2p.m. To purchase your tickets now, please click the button above.
Superintendent Leadership Council
San Marcos CISD's Superintendent Leadership students met for the first in 2023 and they did so in style. The meeting took place at the Paul and Pat Gowens Family Pavilion at Texas State's Bobcat Stadium where the group of students heard from Texas State athletes Maggie Walsh, Ty Evans, and Kannon Webb.
Lady Rattler Basketball
The Lady Rattler Basketball team tipped-off District play on Friday, January 6, versus the New Braunfels Unicorns. The night also honored our Goodnight and Miller Middle School basketball teams. Crockett ROCKS it
On Friday, January 13, the Crockett Superstars jammed out to some music performed by the Rock Bottom String Band. RBSB played music inspired by bluegrass, punk, country, roots, and rock at breakneck speeds with a whole lot of fun, the best part of all, the lead guitarist is the dad to Crockett's very own, Fender! Thank you to RBSB for bringing your talents to Crockett and spreading joy!
Travis Puppet Show
Thank you to the San Marcos Public Library for visiting Travis Elementary. The students had a great time learning about the love of books from our city partner.
Heading to the Top
The Lady Rattler Soccer Program competed in the La Porte Tournament January 5-7 and the varsity took home first place! Congratulations to both Varsity and JV teams on a great tournament play.
