Calling All Alumni: Share Your Story!

We want to hear about our alumni's successes in high school, college, and beyond! As our students graduate from D123 and move 4-Ward, we want to stay connected and hear about all the journeys taken in "tomorrow's world." Tell us stories from the classroom, the athletic field, the stage, the culinary lab, extracurricular activities, volunteer experiences, and everywhere in between. We are interested in everything our alumni have been up to since they graduated 8th grade.

Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 understands the importance of staying connected within your community. On Friday, October 11, the District 123 Education Foundation invites retired staff to a luncheon for the chance to catch up with fellow retirees, listen to updates about the district, and hear how the Ed Foundation continues to provide exciting opportunities for students.

Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 recognized the opening of the new Early Learning Center with a celebration on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Administration, staff, and those involved in bringing this long-awaited vision to life came together to celebrate this special day and support the endless possibilities for the community's youngest learners.

Kolmar 2nd Graders Visit Morton Arboretum

At the end of September Kolmar 2nd graders took a field trip to Morton Arboretum! This field trip aligns perfectly with their current Science unit, plant and animal relationships. Students enjoyed playing in the children's garden in the morning, especially running around in the maze!

Fable Olympics

The Fable Olympics for 1st grade was an absolute blast! It was such a creative way to bring the lessons from those beloved fables to life. Each game tied in perfectly with the stories: The Tale of Peter Rabbit - avoiding Mr. McGregor must have been thrilling!

Reach for the Stars: Global Space Week at OLHMS

Mustangs celebrated Global Space Week, held from October 4th to 10th, by exploring space science through hands-on projects and virtual missions. The annual event commemorates the launch of the first human-made satellite, Sputnik 1, in 1957 and the signing of the Outer Space Treaty in 1967.

On Friday, October 11th, the D123 Retirement Luncheon took place in the beautiful OLHMS Media Center. Each year, this special event is generously sponsored by our incredible Ed Foundation to honor the former teachers and administrators who have devoted countless years to education and our school district.

Unity Week!

This past week, our school came together to celebrate Unity Week, a time dedicated to promoting inclusivity, kindness, and support among students. The activities not only highlighted the importance of unity but also focused on creating a safe, bully-free environment for everyone.

Future Medical Professionals in Training at Hannum

The first-grade team wrapped up an engaging CKLA unit focused on the human body, and the students celebrated their newfound knowledge with a lively interactive event. Students explored various body systems, learned about the importance of hygiene and healthy habits that prevent the spread of germs and maintain overall wellness.

Unity Day at Hometown

This week students throughout District 123 celebrated Unity Week. Hometown students wore their favorite school spirit wear to show that we are one school united against bullying. Staff and students also were seen wearing their best sports attire to show that together we are a great team!
