This week has been super enjoyable, there is a real hum and buzz around the school. There is nothing better in the learning and work place than laughter. Our staff and tamariki are enjoying the sunshine and spirits are lifted as we all go about our day.

We are very excited to share our concrete bike track will be completed over the next three weeks. Once we have a definite completion date, we will let you know when the grand opening is. Thank you Ray Smillie and AG Builders

Sarah Lucas has been working quietly behind the scenes building with a possible partnership with a Bike Supplier - we will share more news as it comes to hand.

We are looking for helpers who have skills in operating chainsaws safely Saturday 17 November. If you are available to assist in sawing up some firewood here at IPS please let Chris Gyde know chris.gyde@inglewood.school.nz You must have reasonable skill and safety gear please.

We are having a Dress UP day Friday 15 November. Please send a grocery item along with you child on the day to go towards the annual Parent Link Grocery Raffle - thank you.

All students will require sunscreen, hats, water bottles and be dressed up (in suitable clothing) in their house colours where possible.

Also Junior Athletics are on Tuesday 12 November, please let your junior teachers know if you are able to help.

We need supporters of the school to step up and man this crossing. It requires adult supervision and support. We will no longer have student wardens out on patrol if there is no adult. It is simply too complex to control. We need the community to get behind this as many voiced after the death of Emma Warren. We do not want any further close calls or tragedies. People felt strongly and now is the time for action. We want our children to be safe. Message, call or email the office. Just 20-30 minutes once a week could save lives. You can even share a slot with someone morning or afternoon. We generously had Lynn Leighton manning the patrol every morning over these last two years and we thank her for this. Now what contribution can you make? Our advice from the Police Education Officer, if the crossing is not manned by wardens all trafffic must yield to pedestrians by law.

As we come to the end of the year we like to ensure we have all the details of your child’s achievements over the year. If your child has competed at national level in any sporting or cultural field, we want to know. This is especially important when considering nominations for awards. We cannot act if we do not know. Send a list of your child’s achievements to the office, including the grade or placing, the date/s and the event or competition. Or email office@inglewood.school.nz. Thank you.

School Absence: If your child is absent from school for any reason, please leave a message on the school answer phone or use the School App. Please state name and reason why the child is away. Thank you.

Sports Uniforms: Please check your cupboards, under beds, drawers etc for any sports uniforms that belong to the school office. We have a lot not returned. Thank you

School Accounts: Please ensure all accounts are brought up to date by the end of the term.

Turning your child's pictures into unique products! Order forms will come home with all children today. Please note - Each child has a unique code. Orders close Monday 4 November at 9am. Please view your child's artwork and order online directly with Kids Art Works.

Book this date whanau and get in early for your purchases to avoid the Christmas rush. Inglewood Town Hall. We have 25 stalls booked in so far, so there will be amazing variety of wares. There will be light nibbles and a cuppa available, raffles for sale as well as awesome festive cheer.

We are fortunate to experience the Taranaki Tu Main event here in Inglewood this year. There are eight Taranaki iwi coming together from around the country and overseas to compete in Softball, Kapa Haka and other events.

The two venue for the fun filled competitive day are Inglewood Primary and Inglewood High School. The event starts around 10:00am and goes through to 3:30pm. We here at Inglewood Primary will be having our Mega Slide, and Pool in operation.

We are inviting anyone who would like to register their interest in having a car boot stall (outside only) to email office@ingklewood.school.nz. We will also be sending plates home to fill for a cake stall. If anyone is able to assist with the running and organisation of this day, please ring school 7568040, we would gratefully accept your assistance.

A fantastic programme for 5 to 8 year old boys and girls!!!
The Superstar Cricket Academy is a fantastic 6 session fundamental skills programme to start children on the road toward the Black Caps or White Ferns. The cost is $50 for the programme and your child will also receive fantastic giveaways including a bat, backpack, ball and cap throughout the sessions. For those children doing this programme for a second year the giveaways have changed so that the children will not receive the same kit as last season

INGLEWOOD – Register at Inglewood Cricket Clubrooms, Karo Park, Inglewood on Friday 1st November from 5pm-6pm. The sessions will begin the following Friday 8th November and run on Friday afternoons from 5.30pm-6.30pm.
