We started our annual fundraiser on Monday during band camp through a company called 99 Pledges.

As a team we need to make a big push this week. IF WE DON'T RAISE FUNDS ON OUR FUNDRAISER, IT WILL BE ADDED TO FEES IN ORDER TO TRAVEL TO SAN ANTONIO AND FUND OUR BOOSTER BUDGET.

Let's all do our part. We will have a video to add to the page for your supporters to see you in action.

Here’s what you need to do:

• Check your email for your personal page’s link and instructions; emails were sent to the student email and first adult email listed in Presto. Contact Mr. Schroeder at mark.schroeder@wylieisd.net if you didn’t receive an email.
• Update your page with your picture
• Enter cell phone numbers and/or email addresses of anyone you think might donate to you or THAT WYLIE BAND

Last year we raised $65,000. Our goal this year is, $80,000 as a band! That is $275 per student! WE NEED EVERYONE’S PARTICIPATION TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

ELIGIBILITY SIMPLIFIED - DO YOUR HOMEWORK, TURN IT IN, STUDY FOR TESTS, RETAKE TESTS IF NEEDED TO PASS.

• Lose eligibility = below 70 in any non AP/PreAP/Dual/advanced academic course.
• Loss of eligibility is 3 weeks. You can regain if passing ALL courses at the next progress report (all is outlined in the link below).
• There is an eligibility hit at the 6 weeks progress report and the 9 weeks grading term. This is the only time this happens within 3 weeks of each other all year. After that it is every 9 weeks.
  
• You can lose eligibility at the first 6 weeks (in 3 weeks).
• You can lose eligibility every 9 weeks.
• Advanced courses and college classes to not count towards eligibility; however, you have to pass these courses for credit towards graduation.
• 6 weeks progress report for first eligibility check is Friday, September 20th. You MUST be passing in order to keep eligibility to participate.
• ALL students are eligible regardless of grades during school breaks (FALL BREAK).

What are private lessons? This is instruction on specific instruments by degreed musicians who have a masters or doctorate in their instrument. Our lesson staff are working musicians who are some of the top performers and educators in the North Texas area. Directors teach music and fundamentals; however, our lesson teachers teach in a one on one deep dive into the instrument. Whether you are wanting to dive into upper level musicianship, get better on the tone and maturity of instrument, learn better audition techniques for All-Region or dive into solo literature. Taking privately with a professional musician on your instrument is widely used practice for young musicians. When I was growing up and you learned an instrument, it was common practice as part of your instrumental training to find a private teacher as to mature as a musician. We have made things easy by hiring teachers to teach during the school day. If you are not in private lessons, I strongly encourage you to start. This is the only way to mature at the pace of your peers. There is a reason that the students in the top bands are as good as they are, they study with a professional musician on their instrument.

1. Copy the URL for the Google Calendar you want to add to your iPhone
