PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Hello Sutter Families,
November marks the end of Daylight Savings Time and the beginning of the holiday season! Our girls soccer season and boys basketball teams will be in full swing. November will also bring a number of exciting events at Sutter Middle School including a student music tour to Theodore Judah Elementary School and Sandra J. Gallardo Elementary School on November 8th. Our Band students will host a concert at Sutter on November 14th and our 7th grade students will take a Field Trip to Folsom High School to watch a theatre performance. 7th grade students will participate in the California Healthy Kids Survey on November 16th and on November 17th, each Advisory class will participate in our grade level Team Day, a school-wide event that gives students an opportunity to connect with both classmates and teachers by participating in fun competitions.
Here's to a great month of November, and we wish you all a Happy Veterans Day and a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Tarik McFall
Healthy Kids Survey
Dear Sutter Parents/Guardians,
We invite you to complete the California Healthy Kids Parent Survey: https://wested.ugam-apps.com/wested/ts/y2gr
This annual survey provides critical insights into our studentsβ school experience, highlighting areas where improvements may be necessary. Responses are anonymous and are invaluable in shaping the future of our educational system and ensuring a safe, supportive, and healthy environment for all students.
Your perspective on topics like safety, bullying, mental health, and overall wellness help educators and administrators understand the unique needs of our students.
This information collected in the survey aids in tailoring educational programs and support services to address specific challenges your child may be facing. Thank you for your active involvement in this crucial processβ
Thank you,
Tarik McFall

VOLUNTEER AT SMS
Our process is now online!
Step 1: Complete the βonlineβ volunteer application. Please note that TB tests must have been completed in the past 60 days. You can visit your physician for this assessment or you can attend one of the courtesy TB Test Clinics sponsored by FCUSD. You can find the list of scheduled clinics here.
Step 2: If you are applying to be a Category 2 Volunteer, you will need to complete a live-scan fingerprinting for DOJ criminal background clearance. You must obtain a FCUSD issued live scan form from the school office to complete the fingerprinting process with a third party. Please contact your parent coordinator for this form. This is REQUIRED regardless if you have had a Live Scan done for another district. This cost is not covered by the District. If you have previously had fingerprints processed for FCUSD, you DO NOT need to process them again unless otherwise directed.
Click on this link to complete your volunteer application.
Please contact our parent coordinator, Mona Noel - mnoel@fcusd.org, for more information.
Thank you again for supporting our schools!

FCUSD - Community Safety Advisory Committee Meeting
The Community Safety Advisory Committee Meeting is scheduled for this upcoming Wednesday November 8th from 4:30-6:30 at Mitchell Middle School Library. We would love to have any students who would like to participate, and parents as well. We meet quarterly to discuss safety moving forward in the district. We want to make an effort to ensure our Safety Committee represents the interests and concerns of both our staff and the student community.
