The scholarship fund will be going towards her attendance at Irvine Valley College, where she will be majoring in βAdministration of Justiceβ.

VPHS Academic Competition Class - Fall 2024
Students participate in three activities*:
Mock Trial- Fall
Academic Decathlon - Winter

*Not all students will have to compete in all three, but the class will prepare students in all areas.
Academic Decathlon
Students study 7 disciplines related to a topic: Art, Economics, Literature, Math, Music, Science, and Social Science.

May 4th Parade
On May 4th, VIlla Park Students, Janice Nguyen, Gavin Mead, and Alexander Tran, had the privilege to hold the OUSD banner at the Orange May Parade, held at the Orange Circle. Our VPHS students represented the district as they walked down the streets of Old Town Orange alongside a carriage with district officials and the board of education. Alongside VPHS marching band and color guard, this was an amazing opportunity for the high school to represent themselves amongst the Orange community.

Spartan Profiles
Lynn Farley-Chinese Language Teacher
Written by: Alexander Tran
Currently working for Villa Park High School as a Teacher Regular in Mandarin, Mrs. Farley has had a profound impact on many of her students. Born and raised in Taiwan, she originally attended high school where she was active in the schoolβs athletics, including basketball. Mrs. Farley later moved to California, where she soon attended and graduated from San Francisco State University as an Industrial Design major. Prior to working at VPHS, Mrs. Farley worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer, then joining the Spartan family in August as of last year. When asked about her favorite memory here at VPHS, it would have to be the on-campus, scavenger hunt that she held for her students. Outside of school, Mrs. Farley enjoys photography and eating Taiwanese food, especially oyster pancakes. She also has two grown children, a son who currently works for Rivian and and a daughter who lives in Australia.
Greg Mitchell-Science Teacher
Written by: Alexander Tran
Longtime teacher here at Villa Park High School, Mr. Mitchell has worked here on campus as a Teacher Regular in science for the past two decades. First graduating from La Habra Highlanders in 1991, Mr. Mitchell was originally involved in football, baseball, basketball, and student government. He would soon attend Fullerton College, then transferring to the University of California, Berkeley as a conservation and resource studies major. During college, he played football and volunteered for βAmericorpsβ. Prior to working at Villa Park High School, Mr. Mitchell dabbled in the cosmetics industry, and worked at Irvine High School and Tuffree Middle School. Throughout his tenure, his favorite memory here at Villa Park would have to be his inaugural dance, or also known as βDancing with the Teachersβ. Some fun facts about Mr. Mitchell is that he is married to his high school sweetheart, who is also a teacher. He also has two sons, one who graduated from Villa Park and the other who will be soon attending Villa Park as well.
