From the Principal
Dear Midland Families:
This month at Midland, we are considering all that we are grateful for. Students will have opportunities to share what they are grateful for, classrooms will have opportunities to write about gratitude, and staff will be sharing what they are thankful for, as well.
Did you know that studies show that the more we focus on gratitude, the more we can decrease anxiety? It’s true!
I am grateful for many things this season. First, I am thankful for our students, who bring so much joy to Midland. Their desire to learn, along with their hard work, give me reason to be grateful. Our students are the WHY the staff at Midland do what we do. I am also very thankful for our Midland staff! Our teachers, paras, and support staff make Midland THE BEST place to work and learn! I am also incredibly grateful for your partnership. Thank you for entrusting us with your child(ren) each and every day!
Do you have a staff member/teacher (or multiple people) at Midland that you'd like to show your gratitude for? Complete this form and we will print off what you said and post it publicly for all to see what you have to say about our AMAZING staff at Midland! (The photo is an example of what we will post - the online form will be available 11/11-11/27).
There is no need to wait until Thanksgiving Day to show your gratitude - start NOW 😀!!!!
💗 Ms. Frederick

Dear Parents and Guardians,
This is a reminder from the health room: if your student has borrowed any clothing this year, please ensure that it is returned with them. Our supply is limited, and we are running low on available clothing items.
Additionally, we kindly ask that you always send your student with an emergency pair of clothing in their backpack to help us preserve our supplies for urgent situations.
Thank you for your cooperation and support!
We know that regular attendance is important to school success! Therefore, our School Improvement Plan has an attendance focus; we want more of our students to be here regularly. Missing 9 or fewer days in a school year is the district goal for students. As we approach the end of the 1st Trimester on November 29th, students who have missed 3 or fewer days are on track to meet this important goal. If your student has missed 6 or more days, they are at risk for being chronically absent. If there is something we can do to help, please let us know! We are here to help. Thank you for sharing your kids with us every day!

PTO
What is PTO?
A PTO, which stands for "Parent Teacher Organization," is a group at your child's school where parents and teachers work together to improve the educational experience for all students by organizing fundraising events, providing extra supplies for classrooms, and/or planning special activities, essentially acting as a support system for the school beyond the regular curriculum; it's a great way to get involved in your child's school life and meet other parents in the community.
Our PTO board is:
President: Brianna Beacham
Treasurer: Quincey Crocram
Secretary: Kristina Frederick
Popcorn Friday Dates: 11/22, 1/24, 2/28, 3/21, 4/18, 5/30,
We would LOVE to have more members join the PTO! Your membership ensures that you have a voice in what ways we impact Midland Elementary. Although we encourage volunteering (in different capacities), it is NOT a requirement!
If you have questions or concerns, or would like more information - you can email the PTO at midlandspto@gmail.com 😀
