Important Information from the Testing Office
We are partnering with the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) to administer the Educational Effectiveness Survey (EES) to students. The survey and screener results will provide us with information and feedback within the research-based frameworks of the Characteristics of High Performing Schools and CASEL (Social-Emotional Learning).
Over the last 20 years, the EES survey has been used in over 280 districts. Based on these experiences, here are some details:
Data will be used to support and inform improvement conversations with staff and leadership at the school and district level
- Each building will receive its building-level reports, and the district leadership team will receive district-level summary views.
- The survey is confidential. GCPS and CEE will protect the confidentiality of each respondent.
To gather this information, your students will take the 30–45-minute screener and survey at school between February 1 and 29, 2024.
Please use this link to access more information about the EES Student Survey.
We value the input of our students as we strive to continue to improve our school.
The Georgia Parent Survey is designed to give parents an opportunity to share input with the Georgia Department of Education. It contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using a personal computer, smartphone, or tablet. Parents that do not have access to the Internet, should contact their child’s school to arrange to complete the survey at the school. The data parents provide by completing this survey will be used to calculate the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Individual data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the system's school personnel or the public and will not be posted online.
Please provide your voice for Gwinnett County Public Schools by clicking HERE and completing the survey.

Stay in touch with your student's academic progress via Parent Portal.
We know that families want easy access and one, go-to location for need-to-know information about their student's education— from records to resources. Just as important, you want an easy way to stay in touch with the school. The Updated Parent Portal gives parents access to grades, assignments, and communication with teachers. The Parent Portal also gives families a direct line to the classroom, with 24/7 real-time information and anytime, anywhere access, with in-portal translation in multiple languages. Visit the Parent Portal here.
Make sure you are also signed up for the following applications and resources to stay connected with your student's academics.

1. Free or reduced meal prices for healthy, nutritious student meals.
2. Additional funding for technology and internet access.
3. Discounts for fees associated with the college application process.
4. Discounted fees for SAT, ACT, and AP exams along with scholarship opportunities.
5. Increased funding to support student education.

e-Tips From The Family Center
Help your teen understand two key lessons.
"Two of the most important lessons children can learn are that they matter and that they are counted on," wrote columnist William Raspberry. One effective way to teach your teen these lessons is to set limits. If you set and enforce a regular study time, for example, you make it clear that your teen's education is a priority for you. When you expect responsible behavior, you show that you believe your teen can do it and you can count on it.

Before you answer, give your teen time to think.
Before you answer your teen's questions or intervene to correct behavior or a mistake, stop and take a deep breath. The short break will help you avoid answering questions or making decisions your teen can answer or make independently if given time to think about it. You'll also avoid acting or replying without thinking…and then having to apologize or change your mind.
