LANCERS OF THE MONTH
Throughout the school year, Livingston High School names “Lancers of the Month."
"Lancers of the Month are students, faculty, and staff who model the qualities and values that define Livingston High School by empowering our community to learn, create, contribute, and grow. Each month, students and staff members are nominated and selected based on their exemplary actions around the building," said Ms. Brittany Gajewski, LHS Dean of Students. Lancers of the Month can reflect any of the pillars of the LPS Portrait of a Graduate, as well as any other admirable traits, such as kindness, civility, or resiliency.
The February 2025 Lancers of the Month included staff members Diane Cascioli and Mark Juliano and students Brody Levine, Sophia Paparsenos (not pictured) and Alexis Mikhelis (not pictured).
Each honoree received a certificate in recognition of this achievement. Congratulations to all!
TECH SCHOOL VISIT OFFERS HANDS-ON INFO SESSIONS
A Universal Technical Institute (UTI) field representative recently visited LHS to present information about various post-secondary programs and options.
UTI is a leading provider of technical education programs for students pursuing careers as transportation and skilled trades technicians, offering hands-on training and industry-aligned curriculum across various specialized fields. In addition to hosting hands-on info sessions (as shown here) throughout the day, the representative also held Q&A sessions for any interested students during Lancer Time.
The visit was arranged by technology teacher, Dave Richards. Director of School Counseling, Sinead Crews, praised him for giving LHS students the opportunity to learn more about trade and technical education pathways.
"It was so amazing to hear about the conversations that were happening yesterday and how engaged the students were—especially with the VR welder! Experiences like these really stick with students, and it's clear they were excited and curious to learn more," said Crews.
LHS THEATRE SPONSORS "PLAY DATE" FUNDRAISER
The LHS Theatre is holding "Play Date" fundraiser on Friday, May 9th. This exciting fundraiser gives local elementary students (K-5) an opportunity to create a short piece of theatre with current LHS students, in addition to performing on the LHS stage! And all proceeds go to our award-winning theatre program!
"Play Date" includes an evening of childcare so that parents can have a night out, while their children are taught a short scene and song by high school theater students. This time the theme is Broadway musical! Parents get to see the performances when they return to pick up their children.

PROCESS FOR ADDRESSING PARENT CONCERNS
Livingston Public Schools strives to respond to concerns and/or questions as quickly and effectively as possible. In a school system, as in any organization, the “chain of command” refers to communication levels of authority in the school district. The philosophy behind the chart in the link below is to refer community members to those people in the organization who can best solve any concerns or questions that may arise, and then direct them to the appropriate people if issues are not able to be effectively addressed at the first level.
COMMUNICATION TOOLS • SUICIDE LIFELINE • MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
