PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to your incredible generosity, we have met our goal of **$25,000** for this year’s Laps for Leadership fundraiser! 🎉 While we’ve reached our target, the opportunity to contribute remains open for another week. If you’d still like to donate, you can do so using cash or checks in the fundraising envelopes sent home or through our online link: https://givebutter.com/Laps4Leadership. Every additional contribution will benefit our students and support enriching programs.
This year's event was our biggest and best yet! Not only did we hit our financial goal, but we also had the most volunteers to ever join us, and the largest turnout of families and community members coming to cheer on our students. The energy and excitement on the Altona track were unmatched, with smiles, cheers, and encouragement filling the air. It was an amazing reminder of the strong, supportive, and connected community we have here at Eagle Crest.
Laps for Leadership has always been about more than fundraising—it’s about coming together to celebrate wellness, belonging, and school spirit. The joy we witnessed today is proof of the positive impact we can create when we unite around our shared goals.
Once again, thank you for helping us reach this incredible milestone. Your support has made a real difference in the lives of our students, and we are deeply grateful. Let's keep this momentum going and continue building on the spirit of partnership that makes Eagle Crest such a special place.
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENTS' UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
As you may have noticed, the weather has started to change! As it gets colder and we prepare for winter, we wanted to send a reminder about what you can expect and how to best ensure your child is prepared. We will do outdoor arrival and recesses as much as possible when the weather allows students to be safe outside. If there is too much precipitation or the wind chill has dropped too low, students will be brought inside.
In those cases, you can expect an email and a text message alert before school for “Indoor Arrival.” All Kinder - 5th Grade students should enter at the front entrance of the building at 8:20am. However, students can still enter the building at 8:15am for breakfast.
We will continue to monitor the conditions throughout the day and will make decisions about recesses for each grade level. Please send your child with clothing that will keep them warm and dry outside. If students want to play in the snow, we do require them to have snow boots.
Right now the weather has been changing drastically from the morning to the afternoon, and we have A LOT OF LOST AND FOUND ITEMS. We will be donating all unclaimed items next week, please stop by ASAP to reclaim any lost items.
As always, if your child loses their jacket, hat, gloves or other items, feel free to stop by the office any day before 4pm and you and your child can check the Lost and Found.
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students
Eagle Crest Elementary

Keep your child reading at home with our school wide Reading Challenge. This is our 5th year and kids are already excited to win some FREE BOOKS! A BIG THANK YOU goes out to our PTO. They purchased lots of books from the recent book fair for prizes for our readers!
Our school wide goal is to read 250,000 minutes before Winter Break. The challenge starts now! Winners will be selected from the list of students that log their minutes each week on the Weekly Reading Log. There will be one winner in every classroom each week. THAT’S 18 WINNERS EACH WEEK!!!
Help your student log their minutes each week by Tuesday mornings for a chance to win a FREE BOOK. Some classes may be doing this during class time, so check with your student to see how you can help them with tracking and logging their reading minutes.
To jump start the Reading Challenge, our first winners will be announced on Friday, November 8th and THREE READERS FROM EACH CLASS will win a FREE BOOK!
20 minutes a day is all it takes. So find a comfy place to read and fall into a good book!
HALLOWEEN PARADE
We are looking forward to our annual Halloween Parade! We are planning to host our parade on Thursday, October 31st at 2:15pm. The students will make a full lap around the school in their costumes while we all celebrate the return of this fun tradition. All families are welcome to join us as we march outside around the school.
All students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school on Halloween and should plan to arrive with the full costume on and ready to go. Costumes must be school appropriate and not interfere with the learning environment. Please do not send students with anything violent (weapons, blood, etc.), or costumes that could be a safety hazard while marching. Blow up costumes and masks can only be worn during the parade. Individual teachers will send information home regarding classroom celebrations.
🇺🇸CALLING ALL VETERANS!🇺🇸
In honor of Veterans Day, Eagle Crest School warmly invites local veterans from our community to join us for a special moment during our morning announcements in November. We would be honored to have you lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
If you are a veteran or know someone who is, please reach out to Amanda Holden at holden_amanda@svvsd.org or call 303-485-6073 to schedule your visit. Your presence would mean the world to us as we pay tribute to your service.
