Safety Review - Week of September 23rd
During the week of September 23rd, RMS will conduct safety protocol reviews and practices. Each day will focus on a different protocol, including walking to the designated Rally Point and simulating emergency sounds. These activities will help ensure that everyone is familiar with the procedures to follow in case of an emergency, making our school a safe, and secure place to learn and work.

This month, we’re focusing on empathy and challenging students to make sure that everyone they interact with feels seen, heard, and valued. We are partnering with you to grow and develop empathy in your student at home. As a family, use these activities to reflect on and better understand the needs of others. (See attached.)

With cold and flu season approaching, please see the following PDF for some some guidelines of when to keep your child at home. Let's all work together to keep students/staff healthy and keep germs to a minimum.
NWEA Testing
We begin NWEA testing next week. Students will be testing in their math classes next Monday through Wednesday. They will then be testing in ELA classes Wednesday through Friday.
Students need to make sure that they have their chromebooks fully charged.

Boys Non-contact Football: Will hold 12 sessions throughout September and October
This Fall Boys intramural will be playing air force football. We will usually meet from 3:15-4:15 on Mondays and Wednesdays. This is a non-contact fast pace game for the boys to enjoy! Please bring your own water as well as a change of clothes and proper shoes to play football. The first day the group meets will be Sep. 23rd and will meet in Mr.Longs classroom (404). Girls Soccer: Will hold 12 sessions throughout September and October
This Fall girls intramural sports will be playing Soccer! We will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:15. Please bring proper attire and be ready to learn the fun and exciting game of soccer! Student Council
Are you interested in promoting Bulldog Spirit through school events like Activity Afternoons, holiday scavenger hunts, student ceremonies and more? Do you want your school spirit ideas and voice to be heard? Well, then Student Council is for YOU! If you are interested in applying for RMS Student Council, be sure to attend our upcoming Informational session on Wednesday, September 18th at 7:40 am in the Media Center. If you cannot make the meeting, you can pick up an application packet in the Main Office anytime after the information meeting. Mrs. Mcllhargey, Mrs. Venglar, and Mrs. Lee hope to see you there!
Parent Club Meeting Minutes
Our first parent club meeting for the year was a great success! We would like to thank everyone that came out as well as those who joined online. If you were unable to attend please see the attached meeting minutes to see what was discussed.

Drama Club
Are you curious about drama, acting, and the theater arts? Well, we've got something for you…
Drama Club! This exciting club is for all interested 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. No prior knowledge or experience necessary. The club will meet Thursdays after school from 3:10 until 4:45 in the auditorium beginning September 12th through February 6th. Students will have fun exploring teacher-led drama games and activities to learn acting concepts in a safe environment. Anyone interested in joining will need to fill out a permission slip linked, pay a $5 participation fee which can be turned in to MR. Salembier. If you can’t make every meeting, no problem! Drop in on the ones that you can make. This begins this Thursday, September 12th. Students will need a ride promptly at 4:45 for pick up at door #32 in the back parking lot. We look forward to seeing you there!

Join Builders Club!
All are welcome!
Builders Club is the largest service organization for middle school students and is sponsored by our local Kiwanis Club. Focused on community service, Builders Club is a student-led organization. Students choose the projects and work together to complete them. Every student has a voice. Meetings take place weekly, before school, on Tuesdays. Our goal is to complete at least one project each month. Students can participate in any of the projects that interest them.
By joining Builders Club, you get the chance to:
Meet new people in grades 6-8 and make new friends
Build Leadership skills
Work to make our school and community a better place!

Visiting Macomb County Animal Shelter
Breakfast with Santa volunteer (with preschoolers)
Working at Concession Stand (basketball games)
Builders Club garden
Raise money for rescued animals

Art Club
Art Club is an opportunity to use the art room on a periodic basis to create art. Join either Mr. Kerschenheiter on Mondays or Mrs. Delcourt on Thursdays. It is loads of fun! There is a limit to
30 students per class. Permission slips are available in the office.
- Art club meets on either Monday or Thursday, from 3:10-4:25
- You do not have to be in art classes to participate.
- Permission slip/registration fee required ($5)
- Begins on October 7th. All school rules apply.
- Students must have a ride to pick them up promptly at 4:25pm
