Marlow Monday Message

Gooooooooood evening Marlow Families -- I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break! It was so great to see out Buckaroos back in the building today!

And now, the race is on. We have three (3) weeks until the Holiday Break, and packed into these three weeks are MoY Assessments, Christmas lunch (3-5 parents invited), a Holiday Spirit Week, Holiday Movie Night, a Santa Tour through GMES, class parties and snacks, oh my!! Did I mention that once again, the Marlow Staff will be caroling throughout community?

It's all happening, and it is going to be a blast! Keep in tune to the calendar of events through the Monday Message and other publications that come out.

Although we will all keep our eye on 'the main thing' of student learning and growth, we will certainly be in the spirit during this joyous time of year.

We have see a tremendous response to the Clothes Bin being out front for recycling old clothes. A few reminders:

- Please make sure that old clothes and shoes are in BAGS. Do not drop things off loosely. Everything must be in bags.

- Do not include hangers or trash. This is for old clothes, shoes, linens, and undergarments.

KEEP IT COMING!!! CLEAN OUT THOSE CLOSETS AND DROP YOUR OLD CLOTHES, SHOES, BELTS, LINENS IN THE CLOTHES BIN, AT THE FRONT ENTRANCE OF MARLOW ES!

FOR K-3 STUDENTS....the mClass Middle-of-Year (MOY) Assessment window opens.

These MOY assessments provide insights into areas such as phonics, fluency, and comprehension, enabling our teachers to tailor instruction to support your child’s growth as a confident reader.

Make-Up Picture Day!!! Any students who were absent for the initial Picture Day, you will have your Picture taken this day. Parents - go to the link https://my.photoday.com/s/LTBW/226707 to get updates and order when they are ready.

K-5 STUDENTS...iReady Math MOY Diagnostic Window opens through Jan. 10th. iReady is an online tool used to evaluate your child's strengths and areas for growth in math. This MoY Diagnostic helps teachers understand your child’s strengths and weaknesses in Math, allowing them to provide personalized instruction and track progress over time.

Come to get a great meal, and a portion of your proceeds will come right back to GMES!!

G3 - G5 STUDENTS - Q2 NC Check-In Assessment Window. Please check with your child's teacher as to specific days and subjects for their Check-Ins. STUDENTS - BE IN ATTENDANCE THESE DAYS!!!

Once again this year, join us for the seventh annual Marlow Staff Caroling! Our teachers and staff are loading up our big yellow sleigh and caroling throughout the Marlow District!

Come one, come alll! Whether you live in any of these areas or not, join us for a night of caroling and fun!!!

Saturday, December 14th, the Town of Mills River is having its annual Santa Tour, and Glenn Marlow Elementary School is once again a stop on the tour. You can get more information at the website: http://millsriver.org/santa.

Families of all ages are encouraged to come out for Santa’s tour. Our PTO will be celebrating his arrival with crafts, cookies, and hot cocoa!!

They will be set up our front from 10:30 am until Noon, with Santa stopping through Marlow Elementary sometime around 11:00 (time is approximate and subject to change).
