Tuesday Times from Elm Grove
Principal's Message
Tuesday, September 10, 2024
Dear Eagle Families,
We had a wonderful turnout at our Grandparents Lunch! It was heartwarming to see so many families enjoying lunch together in our cafeteria. As we look ahead to a busy fall season, please be sure to stay updated by checking our weekly newsletter for important announcements and upcoming events. We’re excited for all that’s to come!
Attendance
We had an overall attendance rate of 95.32% last week, which is a drop from the previous week. A big shout-out goes to our fifth graders, who had the highest attendance at 97.71%! Let's continue to strive for excellent attendance as we move forward into the school year.
PTA Sonic Night
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 18th, because Mrs. Manco and I are ready to take on three brave students in a slushie faceoff at Sonic! Join us between 4-8pm to support our school, but be sure to stop by at 5:30 pm for the ultimate "slush off!" If your student thinks they’re up for the challenge, email fundraising@egepta.org, and we’ll select three challengers. We can’t wait to see who’s got the slushie skills to take us down!
Attention Car Riders at AM Drop Off
As a reminder, beginning September 9, 2024, we will no longer allow park and walk up to the front door during arrival. This includes all parking lots. You may continue to walk your child to our back entrance from the neighborhoods. This is part of our district-wide safety and security procedures. If your child is an AM car rider, you will need to drop them off in the car rider line. Staff will be there to assist your child/children out of the car and into the campus. I appreciate your help with following this procedure.
Have a wonderful week!

Be Proactive!
If you are proactive, you make things happen, instead of waiting for them to happen to you.
Proactive people choose their own way and take responsibility for the results. You are being proactive when you:
- Remain calm.
- Take responsibility.
- Think before acting.
- Focus on solutions.
- Take initiative to make things happen.
- See alternatives, not roadblocks.
- Focus on what you can influence.
You're in Charge: I am a responsible person. I take the initiative. I choose my actions, attitudes, and moods. I do not blame others for my wrong actions. I do the right thing without being asked, even when no one is looking.

Elm Grove Library
Our Elm Grove library is buzzing with excitement! Students are eagerly checking out books, listening to engaging stories, and exploring creativity through Maker's Space activities, all thanks to our fabulous librarians. For many, Library Day has quickly become the best day of the week! We love seeing our students dive into new books and spark their imaginations in the library.

Elm Grove PTA
Our first meeting of the year will be held on September 17, 2024 at 6:00 PM. We hope you can join us!
Joining the Elm Grove PTA is a wonderful opportunity for parents to actively contribute to their child's education and overall school experience. The partnership between home and school is vital for student success, and by becoming a PTA member, you can help strengthen that bond. The PTA provides a platform for parents and teachers to collaborate, share ideas, and work together to create a positive and supportive environment for our students.
