Family Newsletter September 13, 2024
Families,
Thank you for another great week!
Our junior high students completed their first outdoor field experience of the year! Students learned how to find North using their own shadows, studied constellations, and wrote poetry. We love being able to provide these kinds of opportunities for our students. Thank you for donating food, equipment and spending your time driving! Thank you to Ms. Nicoletta and the junior high team for making this trip happen!
Pizza Fridays are back! Pizza orders must be received at least one week prior to delivery day. Orders are due by the end of day Friday for the following week's delivery.
September is Suicide Awareness month. Please review USBE's newsletter HERE.
Elementary families, please speak with your child about safe recess behavior. Students are allowed to play tag using a “two-finger touch”. There should be NO roughhousing. We have established rules, provided lessons, reteaching, and consequences. Unfortunately, we still have some issues with students who are tackling, kicking, pushing and playing too rough. Recess privileges will be removed from students who continue to play roughly with others or use unkind words.
Celebrations of Life are a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the uniqueness of your child! Please reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule a celebration on or near their birthday and plan for approximately 15-20 minutes of storytelling about your child, their successes, family dynamics, and interests. We love getting to know our students in this way and connecting with families. We do not allow treats or other edibles for birthdays because we want to keep the focus on healthy eating and the story of the child.
