Important Message
District Climate and Culture Survey
Earlier this week, we shared a letter regarding our 2024 Climate and Culture Survey. Since then, we have added the survey questions to our website at www.boyertownasd.org.
The parent/guardian survey opens today and will be available for completion through Friday, March 8. While not required, we encourage you to complete a separate survey for each of your children, as your responses may vary based on your children’s individual experiences. To access your survey, please visit Family Climate and Culture Survey
Please note that your child(ren) in grades 3-12 will be completing the appropriate grade-level survey in school on Friday, March 1.
BASD will use the feedback from the survey to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement and will provide invaluable insights on how we can better meet stakeholder needs. Thank you for partnering with us to meet the needs of our learners and prepare them to succeed in a changing world!

Hello CES parents and guardians!
Our Purse Bingo and Basket Raffle is right around the corner! HSA needs your help! We are raising money specifically for getting the blacktop painted with fun interactive activities for the students to do on days that the playground equipment is off limits. The quote for this project is roughly $16,500 and we already raised $3,000 at our walkathon earlier this year.
How can you help?
1 - Purchase tickets and have friends/family purchase, too! This event is open to the public and tickets are on sale now! Tickets can be purchased via Cheddar Up: my.cheddarup.com/c/2024-second-annual-ces-hsa-purse-bingo
2- Donate Basket Raffle items. There are 3 general themes for the school. Donations can be sent in with your child and are due March 15th. The HSA will create baskets with the items donated. Sign up genius link for donations: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F48AEAC2BA6FA7-48123216-cespurse#/
3- Assist with soliciting local businesses for donations. These can be monetary for help offsetting the cost of the purses, or products that we can use in the raffle portion of the event. We would appreciate it if you can ask your employer, or maybe friends/family who own businesses, as we would welcome any type of donation! We have a formal donation request letter and Tax ID for any business who wants to support this event.
Please reach out to any HSA officer for more information on how you can help!
Thank you!

Title I Newsletter and Daily Planner
Please take some time to read over this month’s Title I newsletter and Daily Planner using the links below. The February newsletter includes information about self-regulation skills, online safety, responsibility, and more.
Title I Programs in the Boyertown Area School District:
Boyertown, Colebrookdale, Earl and Washington are the identified Title I elementary schools in our district. Middle School West is also identified as a Title I school. These schools receive Title I funding based on the percentage of low-income eligible students.
Title I is a federally funded program purposed with ensuring all children have a fair and equal opportunity to learn and grow. Beginning in the 2023-24 year, Boyertown has transitioned to a Schoolwide Title I program. A Schoolwide program is designed to serve all students in a Title I building and improve all structures to help support student learning. Our Schoolwide plan was developed with the help of parents, community members, teachers, and administrators. Our plan is evaluated annually to determine the impact that these supports have on student achievement.
As a Schoolwide Title I building, the staff is reviewing all students' data to determine needs. Students are identified for intervention if in need of academic support, primarily in the area of reading. All students receiving additional support must qualify through our district assessments.
Support is provided to the students individually or in small groups both in class and as a pullout program. Schools set a goal for academic progress that will be measured through mid-year and end-of-the-year assessments. The Reading Specialists, Intervention teachers, paraprofessionals, and classroom teachers partner together to support all Title I students.
As a Title I Schoolwide building, all students are considered Title I students and all teachers are considered Title I teachers. All of our professionals are highly qualified teachers. They hold a Bachelor's Degree or higher, Pennsylvania certification, and have shown competency in their subject area. In addition, the paraprofessionals in the program are also highly qualified. They have either an Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree, a minimum of two years of college, or have passed a rigorous local assessment.
Our district works diligently to use the Title I funds as required and to provide these additional services to enhance the educational program of our Title I students. If you have any questions about the Title I program, please reach out to your building's reading specialist or call the Title I office at (610) 369-7414.
