SMS STUDENT CHECK OUT PROCEDURE
Any parent, friend, or relative that is picking up your student from school must be listed as an “approved” contact with pick-up privileges in PowerSchool. They must also present their valid, legal government-issued photo ID.
*Please note: We will only call students out of class once you have arrived and we have checked your ID. We ask that you please plan accordingly. Thank you for your understanding. We will not send your student out of the building to meet you in the parking lot.
Required Student ID
In an effort to improve and support security at Skyview Middle School, we will be requiring all students to have their student photo ID's. Students that have a class outside the building in mods and pods will need their ID’s with them everyday. Students are going to be required to show their ID’s for all after school activities including sporting events, drama productions, concerts and any other school events. Students that need a replacement ID will need to stop by the front office to get a new one. Students will be allowed 3 temporary sticker IDs per semester. After that they will need to bring in $5 for a replacement. It is your students responsibility to inform you of their lost ID cards. SMS provides a breakaway lanyard for all students, if your student chooses to provide their own lanyard please ensure that it is a breakaway and appropriate for school.
LOST AND FOUND
If your student is missing items such as jackets, lunch bags, water bottles etc. The Lost and Found will be donated the 1st and the 15th of each month, please have your student check before then.
School Nurse / Health Room
Please refer to the attached K-12 Parent Immunization letter for the 2024-2025 school year which is required to be sent out to all parents/guardians every year by February 15th in accordance with Colorado Health Rule 6 CCR; 1009-2 to inform you of the required school entry immunizations for your student during the upcoming school year.
Please know this is NOT a notification for immunization compliance or non-compliance, but rather a requirement by Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to notify parents of immunization requirements.
For further information or if you need this letter in another language, please see link from Colorado Department of Health and Environment at:
