Were you going to have your child take the summer off? WAIT.....you don't have to!!
Give your child & yourself some Summer Sanity!
Just in for our summer Newberg program, we are now switching it up and offering a
Summer Program that is only on TuWeTh mornings 8:30-12:00 PM.
This is awesome since you can still take extended travel weekends, but give your child something for them to do consistently, three days in a row!! This will be held at our Newberg location at the Chehalem Cultural Center. Packed full of fun Summer Time activities with Teacher Jennie and Teacher Nicole!!
Our Summer program will start Tuesday, June 4th-Wednesday, Aug. 28th.
This will be a mix of three and four year olds in this class. If you are interested in holding a spot in this class text Tiff 503-467-6565c or message us in brightwheel! This will fill up quickly!
We have made the decision to push the last day of school and end of year/graduation celebrations, out to the last week in May.
We originally had the school year ending on May 23rd & 24th, which was right against Memorial Day weekend.
Last days will now be Tues. 5/28 & Wed. 5/29 for both locations.
Our end of Year Celebrations will also be held on these days as well.
Newberg location Ceremony/End of Year Celebration will be at noon on
Tues. 5/28 for the "Trees Class" and noon on Wed. 5/29 for our "Rainbows" class.
The Last day of our Dundee program will be an early pickup with our Graduation Ceremony starting at 4:30 PM for all classes. We ask that families pick up by 3:00 PM that day and join us back at
4:30 PM for Ceremony/End of Year Celebration.
Please note the new dates for the May calendar. We are hoping that we are far enough out that this is a positive change as it means your kids get some extra time in school and allow families to still travel for the long Memorial Day Weekend.
Our last tuition increase has been over a year, in September of 2022. With rising business operational costs and allowing us to keep our teachers at a competitive market/living wage, we will have a 3% tuition increase, effective April 1st. We pushed our tuition increase out, that was going to be in effect for February tuition to April 1st.
If this tuition increase puts your family in a financial hardship from what you are currently paying, we will be evaluating a limited number of need based scholarships, that will be based on family income. We have seen an increase of toys, fidgets, backpacks, rocks, gems and a variety of things coming to school, that need to stay home. Please remind your child that these things don't belong at school and are to be enjoyed at home. They can take them in the car and keep them safe in their carseat.
Also, any hats, headbands, bracelets, large necklaces, watches, capes and other things that can't stay on bodies and become a distraction, should also be left at home.
Thanks so much for the reminders and keeping it consistent for all our friends attending.
Also, please remember the only bags we allow at the school due to space constraints are their Good Life bags and Ziplock bags with extra clothes. If you have questions, please reach out in brightwheel.
A huge part of building confidence in 3-5 year olds is helping them do daily tasks themselves. This is a huge benefit of The Good Life, that we integrate into our daily routines. We love to help them gain confidence and create independence. One of the easiest ways to do this, is helping kids dress themselves.
A quick reminder to please send your child in preschool friendly clothing. Pants that are easy to get up and down for potty, elastic waist is best. Please NO pants with zippers, buttons, snaps and ties, as their little fingers have a hard time getting them snapped/buttoned. Dresses can also get tricky as it's one more thing to navigate while going potty.
Shoes need to be easy on and off, velcro or slip on. Please NO TIE/LACE shoes. We remove our shoes throughout the day to change into rainboots, naptime, yoga which they do themselves. They are not at the age to tie shoes "yet", so this becomes frustrating for preschoolers and time consuming for teachers.
