Accountability & School Improvement

Update on the 2024 A-F ratings: The judge issued an Order Granting Temporary injunction. This means TEA is barred from issuing A-F accountability ratings for the 2023-24 school year until a final judgment is issued in the litigation. The trial has been set for February 10, 2025.

TEA has updated the Texas Performance Reporting System website. Reports incorporating STAAR, CCMR, and Graduation data were updated with 2023-2024 data. As the most comprehensive reporting system published by TEA, TPRS provides additional performance reports, results, and indicators for student groups not reported on state accountability data tables, the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), or the School Report Card.

Based on feedback to CCMR Outcomes Bonus (CCMR OB) reporting, this release also includes a brand-new report for CCMR OB, updated as of the Class of 2022 (the most recent cohort). Additional information about the CCMR OB Report can be found in the TAA: CCMR Outcomes Bonus Reports Updates

This release does not include the Campus or District 2024 Accountability Reports. The issuance of the A–F ratings under 2024 rule is pending and subject to change.

For districts and campuses that are interested in administering STAAR Interim Assessments, Window 1 for Math and RLA opens on October 14 - December 20. Science and Social Studies only have one assessment available, and it opens October 14 - April 4. Refer to the 2024–2025 STAAR Interim Assessments training posted in the Training Activities section of the Coordinator Resources. The training slides have been updated based on questions received. In addition, an updated version of the STAAR Interim Assessments Educator Guide will be available soon.

TEA has released guidance for the development of Local Improvement Plans for campuses who were identified as Targeted Support or Additional Targeted Support in Federal Accountability. The expectation is for the improvement plan to be developed and implemented by January 2025. TEA released the following resources:

The projected release timelines for Data Validation in TEAL are:

• Leaver Data Validation reports will be posted November.
• Discipline Data Validation reports posted in December.
• Student Assessment Data Validation reports posted in January.

The 2024 TAPR is scheduled for release in December. The release will not include the campus or district 2024 accountability reports. Statute requires that each district's board of trustees hold a public hearing to discuss the district's annual report within 90 calendar days of receiving the TAPR. Holiday breaks do not count toward the 90 days.

Reminders on College Prep Courses:

• TEA is working on an approved list of College Prep courses for use next year (2026 grads)
• For the 2025 graduating class - College Prep courses must be taken in their Junior or Senior year to earn CCMR credit.
• For the 2026 graduating class - College Prep courses (from the approved list) can only be taken in their SENIOR year to earn CCMR credit.

Reminders on IBCs:

• 2025 graduates must pass an IBC from the version 3 list and be a Concentrator in their aligned program of study.
• 2026 graduates must pass an IBC from the version 3 or version 4 list and be a Completer in their aligned program of study.
