School Bus Safety
With our snowy roads and icy conditions, it's a good time to remember to be extra careful near school bus stops. Students should be very careful on their walk to and from their bus stops. They should remain 10 feet away from the school bus after exiting. It's also important for adult drivers to remember that they must stop when a school bus stops in front of them and extends its stop sign with flashing lights. If we all work together, we can help keep our students safe on and off the school bus.
Great Kindness Challenge
Each year schools all over the world participate in a weeklong Great Kindness Challenge. Mammoth Elementary School in coordination with the Mono County Office of Education Counseling Department will be participating this week, February 6-10, 2023. We have a weeklong event with spirit days, recess activities and a checklist of 50 kind activities that students can complete (link here). If you would like to get involved, take a look at the activity checklist or the website, https://thegreatkindnesschallenge.com/. There is even a family edition for you to complete at home. All resources are available in both English and Spanish on the website. We look forward to sharing kindness all around Mammoth!
We are committed to our targeted learning focus for the school:

MES Ski and Snowboard PE News
Thank you families!
We were so grateful for the family support last week when our bus was in the shop. We were able to get all of our kids out on the mountain and back down the hill safely. We are thankful for all families who pick up their students from the mountain. It helps expedite the trip down the mountain and get us back to school to drop off on time. Thank you! Please remember that if you are picking up your child from the mountain, please always check out with a teacher. We will have two busses this week, but remember there are still a lot of students to check in and drop off times can be delayed.
See the document linked here with important information for ski/snowboard PE.
