Clyde Erwin Elementary School
Dr. Patterson's Weekly Update
April 5, 2020
Happy Sunday everyone!
We hope you all are staying safe and well during our school closure. Teachers and staff have been working very hard to get together materials and provide meaningful, virtual instruction to students. We know it is a huge change for everyone, and we hope students are adjusting the best they can in this situation. We all miss our students terribly and are really hoping we are able to return to school as soon as possible! Please do not hesitate to send an email message or DoJo message to your child's teacher if you need assistance. Additionally, we are available via phone in the office Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 12:00pm. Please call us at 910-347-1261.
A few reminders as we continue with virtual instruction:
- Students in grades 3-5 should attend daily, live classes in Microsoft Teams as often as possible. Math instruction is at 10:00am, and ELA instruction is at 1:00pm. Lessons are recorded for students unable to attend live sessions. Students are responsible for completing assigned work tasks.
- Students in K-2 should be working in work packets daily. K-2 teachers have also posted information and resources on their teacher webpages. Visit www.onslow.k12.nc.us/clydeerwines, and visit your child's teacher page for more information.
- Our next K-2 packet pick-up is on April 14. Packets will be available at the back door entrance (by the parking lot) and organized in boxes by grade level (K, 1, 2). There will also be a box to return completed packets.
- Check Class DoJo daily for important teacher and school messages.
- Enrichment teachers (PE, Music, Art, Media) are posting weekly lessons on the webpage for K-2 and in Microsoft Teams for 3-5.
- Teacher office hours are 9:00-10:00am and 2:00-3:00pm Monday through Friday. Communicate with teachers through Class DoJo or email, and they will respond to you within 24 hours.
- Mrs. Nathan, our school counselor, is also available for virtual counseling as needed. Information is on our webpage under the "Student Services" tab.

Positive Behavior Expectations
