Message from Mr. Imbusch
Dear students, staff, and parents/guardians:
Next Friday is an Early Release Day. Students are released at 11:00 a.m., and our staff work on their own Professional Development. Over the past year, our staff have been working hard to hone their skills in Differentiated Instruction. This concept, which is not new to our staff by any means, helps all students by tailoring teaching methods, resources, and activities to meet their diverse needs, abilities, and learning styles. In a simplified explanation, our staff are:
• Finding out a lot about their students - Getting insights into students’ academic and language levels, learning styles, interests, likes and dislikes, and home situations.
• Differentiating what they teach - Assigning topics and projects based on students’ interests and proclivities so as to increase engagement while covering essential curriculum content.
• Differentiating how they teach. - Scaffolding the depth and complexity of lessons so that students can understand and apply knowledge in ways that make sense to them.
• Differentiating how students demonstrate mastery - Giving students options in how they check on whether students have absorbed what’s been taught.
• Differentiating the learning environment - How they arrange their classroom sets the tone for both teaching and learning.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Sincerely,
Stephen Imbusch

WHS Robotics
The Robotics Team is very busy this month with the 2025 game Reefscape being unveiled. The team will be very busy getting to work on designing, building and programming their newest robot for the new season. They just finished up their fall training session by building an elevator mechanism with a wrist. It was a great experience for many members of the team to learn how to design this mechanism on CAD, build it, and program the elevator for the first time. These will all be useful skills in the upcoming season.
First Lego League (FLL) just wrapped up with the 3 teams and they had a great season with one team making it to states. Congratulations to them.
So please read the newsletter to find out all the news because there is a whole lot more.
