ARES FAMILIES
As we approach the spring break, we wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for your ongoing support and partnership in your child's education journey. Your involvement and dedication play a crucial role in our shared mission to nurture and empower our students.
Spring break offers a wonderful opportunity for families to reconnect, recharge, and create lasting memories together. Whether you're embarking on exciting adventures or enjoying quiet moments at home, we encourage you to cherish this time with your loved ones and make the most of every moment.
As we take this well-deserved break, we want to thank you for entrusting us with your child's education and for your continued collaboration in their academic and personal growth. Your support is invaluable, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work together in partnership.
Wishing you all a joyful, rejuvenating, and safe spring break filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Waddell and Mrs. O'Brien

SEL Update
Next week we will continue to learn more about how to grow the trait of curiosity. Students will discuss how to continue to feed their hungry mind and use their curiosity to Thrive! You can encourage your kids to keep their mind healthy and strong by having a curious mindset, reading, asking questions, creating, learning and keep wondering.
Here are some top takeaways from author of Thrivers Dr. Michele Borba:
- Curiosity flourishes with open-ended, hands-on, child-guided opportunities. Don't be afraid to let your child take the lead with projects, games, and other activities that interest them.
- Children must feel supported by adults to deviate from the norm and be creative.
- Curiosity and peak performance are driven by passion: help children find their passions.
- When people collaborate and build on one another's work, curiosity increases
One more thing you can do at home is to encourage questions. "Curious kids generally ask seventy-three questions a day. Unfortunately, most children's inquisitiveness peaks at age 4 because we discourage them, and so their questions cease." (Dr. Borba).
Follow these tips to keep encouraging curiosity:
- Encourage: "I love your questions!", "Great thought!"...
- Clarify: "Do you mean...?" "Are you asking...?" "Can you repeat so I understand?"
- Find the answer: "Not sure, but i'll find out." "Great question! I bet Grandpa knows."
- Solve together: "Who can we ask?" "Let's Google it." "Let's go to the library."
