PRINCIPAL'S FRESH CATCH!
Manta Rays, Lead the Way!
I hope this message finds you well as we continue to work together for the success and safety of our students. I want to remind everyone of the importance of ensuring that your child arrives at school before the tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m. This punctuality not only sets a positive tone for the day but also maximizes their learning opportunities. Additionally, as we implement new procedures in the car rider line, please be sure to follow the directions from our staff. These changes are designed to improve the efficiency and safety of our drop-off and pick-up times. Lastly, I would like to reiterate that there is no student drop-off on Torrey Pines Drive. This entrance is specifically reserved for walkers, bikers, and ECSE students. For the safety of all, please utilize the designated car rider line for vehicle drop-offs. Thank you for your cooperation and support in these matters.
Student Drop-Off Protocol
Please see the maps below for appropriate student drop-off locations during arrival. Please note, there is no student drop-off along Torrey Pines Dr. All students arriving to school in a car should utilize the car rider line along the front of the school.

FISHY FACTS!
2025-2026 Zoning Information
The Lamar CISD Board of Trustees approved new secondary campus zones for the 2025-2026 school year, and I am writing to inform you of some important changes that may affect your child’s campus assignment starting in the 2025-2026 academic year if they are currently in grades 5 - 11. To determine if you and your family will be impacted by the rezoning, please follow the steps below.
· Go to the Lamar CISD website – www.lcisd.org
· At the top of the page, click on “Find My School”
· Using the dropdown arrow next to “School Year 2024-25”, select “School Year 2025-26”
· Begin entering your home address in the search bar
o Once you see your address, click on that address
· On the left-hand side of the site, you will see the elementary, middle school, junior high school, and high school that your home is zoned for in Lamar CISD
For further information, please see the attached FAQ document that provides more specific information about the updated school zones for 2025-2026.
Should you have any immediate questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Department of Enrollment Management directly at 832-223-0424.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
THE FISH THAT GOT AWAY (REPEAT NEWS)
Student ID Badges
It is a requirement for all staff and students to have on an ID badge while on school grounds. This means that students must keep up with their badges and make sure they are wearing them daily. If a student loses their badge, they must have it replaced. Parents can expect a phone call from your child's teacher or the front office if your child needs to have their badge reprinted. The cost for the badge alone is $5.00 or you can get the badge, holder and lanyard for $7.00. Please help us with this district requirement.
A word on snacks...
Parents, we kindly request that if you are sending snacks with your child for school that you limit those snacks to items that are dry and can be working snacks. Students should bring something they can open and each quickly while they continue working. Things like chips, cheese crackers, grapes, animal crackers, etc.
Birthday Treats
It's very important that you communicate with your child's teacher if you plan to bring birthday treats to school to avoid the same classroom having multiple birthday treats on the same day. If you plan to send birthday treats, they must be store bought with an ingredients list attached and delivered to the front office by 9:30 to be checked by the nurse for allergens. Additionally, for students arriving to school in the car rider line, safety patrollers and/or staff members are able to assist with bringing the birthday treats into the building and parents should still utilize the car rider line. There is no need to park and walk in for delivery of birthday treats. Students are not allowed to bring juice boxes, goodie bags, receive flowers or balloons on their birthday.
