Principal's Corner
Hello Little Eagle Families:
As the song goes, "It's the most wonderful time of the year!" CES was bursting with fun and engaging activities this last month! Thank you for all of your support, donations, and help you gave to our classrooms to make every day extra special for our Little Eagles.
I know the Holidays can be a stressful time for families, especially when your students are young. I hope that you will keep it simple, spend lots of time just relaxing with your Little Eagles. Remember: your children will remember most the time you spent making memories with them. It doesn't have to cost money to make memories...see below for some low-cost activities you can do during Winter Break! I hope you and your families enjoy a wonderful Holiday Season.
Activities to do during Winter Break....
- Build a snow family
- Make a snow fort
- Go ice skating on a nearby lake or at the ice rink
- Take a drive and look at Christmas lights playing "I spy"
- Make popcorn garland or a paper chain to hang on your tree
- Decorate cookies together as a family
- Make paper snowflakes
- Paint snow using a little bit of paint and water in spray bottles
- Have a Holiday Movie marathon with hot cocoa and popcorn
- Learn a Holiday song and sing them to a neighbor or two!
It's getting colder (sigh!); please remember to send your student with a jacket, hat, gloves, etc. to ensure their comfort throughout the day. All students are expected to participate in outdoor recess unless there is inclement weather. Please label/mark these items so that we can get missing items back to their owners. If you have additional items that you no longer need or would like to donate to our "borrow room", please send washed items to the main office! Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns!
Cheers,
Mr. Jackson
Counseling Corner
Happy New Year Eagle Families!!
As we enter 2025 take a moment to reflect on 2024 and all the memories, successes, and progress you have made in the last year. It is important to remember big or small you grew in so many ways over the year and that is something to celebrate.

K-Kids Peer Mentoring
1st & 2nd grade K-Kids have been visiting Kindergarten classrooms and role modeling positive play, good choices and conflict resolution strategies.
2nd grade K-Kids are doing a FABULOUS job being recess buddies, supporting Kinders at recess throughout the month on positive play and choices. The Kinders love seeing them present on the playground.

News from the Nurse
We are so excited to see the students back at school. We want to continue to promote healthy habits and prevent the spread of illness in 2025. The colder months often bring a unique set of challenges, but with a few simple tips, we can ensure a happy and healthy winter for everyone. Here's the Winter Wellness Newsletter packed with helpful information. Remember, a healthy and happy winter starts with small, consistent habits. Let's make this winter season a time of well-being and community. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. paige.white@myeagles.org
Winter Health Tips:
1. Stay Hydrated
Even in colder weather, it's crucial to stay hydrated. Drink water regularly, as the cold temperatures, dry air, and indoor heating can contribute to dehydration. Don’t like water? Sipping on warm drinks like herbal teas and enjoying nourishing soups can also be comforting and contribute to overall well-being. Try foods with high water content like cucumbers and oranges. Dry skin can be a sign of dehydration. Remember to nourish your skin to prevent dryness and itching. Wash hands with moisturizing soap and warm water as hot water can strip away natural oils. Use moisturizers to keep your skin hydrated. Helping your child to apply lotions after bathing will improve skin condition. Have chapstick or vaseline available to apply to lips daily or more often to prevent cracking and bleeding. Students may keep chapstick in their book bags or pockets and use it throughout the day.
2. Winter Nosebleeds
If your child suffers from winter nosebleeds it may be from the dry air. Try using a cold air humidifier at night. Saline nose drops or petroleum jelly may help too. If severe, consult your pediatrician.
3. Physical Activity Indoors
Physical activity is important, even when it's cold outside. Consider indoor exercises and activities to keep everyone moving during the winter months. Some ideas for home workouts are doing circuits with jumping jacks, squats, push ups, lunges, and crunches or even computer fitness games. Other indoor activities include dancing, stair climbing, housework like vacuuming and sweeping, mall walking, bowling, roller skating, yoga or other fun group classes at your local gym, studio, or community center.
4. Dress Appropriately
Proper clothing is key to staying warm and healthy during winter. Hats and gloves help prevent heat loss from the head and hands, which are particularly vulnerable to cold exposure. Dress in layers to stay comfortable both indoors and outdoors.
Popcorn Friday Volunteers Needed!
Popcorn Fridays are back! We are in need of volunteers to make sure it is a success. Check out our signup below. You must have a 2024-2025 volunteer background check on file with the district. Forms can be found in any district office.

Attendance Matters!
Showing up to school greatly impacts a student's academic success. Families play a crucial role in ensuring that a student gets to school safely and on time daily. We understand that absences are unavoidable, such as illness or medical appointments. Please call in advance if your child will not be in school.
