🏆 AHS Wins Class 5A UIL Academics State Championship!
It’s truly a tradition like none other in the state!
Argyle High School continued its reign as a leader in UIL Academics by winning its 18th state title. The Eagles claimed the Class 5A state championship with 126 points, defeating Highland Park and A&M Consolidated.
This marked Argyle’s third consecutive title in 5A and included two first-place team finishes (Accounting, Literary Criticism), three in second place (Calculator, Current Issues & Events, Mathematics) and one in third place (Spelling & Vocabulary). AHS also produced a state champion and a state finalist in Speech & Debate.
“Championships do not come easily or naturally,” AHS UIL Academics Coordinator Deserae Good said. “They come from dedication, intrinsic drive, and belief in yourself and your team. These students and coaches have shown year after year that they can hold on to a winning title, and this year makes 18. These kids will go on to become innovators, research scientists, mathematicians, literary artists, theatrical stars, historians, journalists, and so much more. The tradition does not stop here.”
This year’s feat was more challenging due to scheduling circumstances. Nearly half of the AHS competitors were seniors and competed early Monday morning in Austin following graduation in Denton on Sunday night. This provides just another example of the commitment, talents and dedication of these Eagles!
The UIL academic contests include multiple subject areas in which schools build points through comprehensive competitions. The areas include Business, Journalism, Language Arts, Social Studies, Speech & Debate, STEM and Theatre.

Leaders examined the School Board-adopted Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Graduate Profile Attributes, identifying where alignment is strong on their campuses—and where opportunities for growth exist.
This provided a great opportunity for our leaders to grow together and begin work on the future visioning for AISD.
