Happy New Year! We are excited about the opportunities ahead and the growth we’ll see in our students over the coming months.
What’s Happening This Month:
- Reinforcing Expectations: January is a great time to review our school-wide expectations and set goals for the second half of the year. Teachers will spend time in classrooms revisiting our Code of Conduct and reinforcing the importance of respect, responsibility, and being ready to learn.
- Winter Weather and E-Learning: With the winter season upon us, please make sure your contact information is updated in case of weather-related closures. If we need to implement e-learning days, information and resources will be shared in advance to ensure a smooth transition.
Celebrating Achievements:
I’d like to take a moment to recognize our students and staff for their hard work and dedication during the first half of the school year. From academic accomplishments to extracurricular activities, our school has so much to be proud of. Thank you to our families for your ongoing support in helping our students succeed!
Looking Ahead:
This semester will be filled with exciting learning opportunities, events, and activities. Whether it’s through classroom projects, sports, or school-wide initiatives, there will be plenty of chances for students to grow and shine. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming events and ways to stay involved.
Thank you for your partnership and support. We are looking forward to seeing our families out for Parent Teacher Conferences on February 12th and 13th. More details to come.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s make 2025 a year of growth, success, and positivity for our Medinah Middle School community!

January Behavior Incentive!
Throughout the month of January, we will be focusing our positive behavior incentive in the cafeteria during lunches! Expectations include listening to supervisors when information is being shared, respecting others' personal space, keeping the cafeteria clean, and following simple lunchroom safety procedures. Each day, students will start with three dodgeballs on the visual board that is displayed for students to see. A dodgeball will be removed for anytime there is excessive behavior that goes against the lunchroom expectations. Each grade needs to average two dodgeballs each day during lunch and if we meet our goal, we will host a student/staff dodgeball game during school at the end of January! I know the students are excited for the opportunity to toss some dodgeballs at their favorite teachers and knock them out of the game so let's keep lunchroom behavior safe and efficient this month!
