IMPORTANT NEWS
A Special Message from Dr. Padilla
Good evening Eagles,
I would like to take a moment to re-celebrate our employees of the year. Congratulations to Steve Allard, Christina Ocon, Denisse Mena and Cynthia Johnson. I hope you display those certificates proudly. Thank you for everything that you do for JGHS and SEA! Also, Mr. Sergio Franco, was recognized with a prestigious AP honor.
Thank you to everyone who took time out of your Saturday evening to cheer on our Boy's Soccer team! It was an incredible game, leading to a 2-1 Victory. One of the perks of being the principal is being able to jump to the sideline. I did just that to capture a glimpse into the team's huddle. Guess what I overheard? Coach Luis both praising them and YOU. He told them to be grateful for the fans - the teachers, admin, staff, family and friends who have supported them. He told them to be proud of being an Eagle - always!
Its almost time for us to show the WASC visiting Committee what being an Eagle means! On Monday-Wednesday, the visiting committee will be looking for evidence and insight into the things we said make up Glenn and SEA. There's really only one thing we need to be - authentically us.
Have a Great Eagle Week!

ATHLETICS
Student Athlete Ricardo Rodriguez 11th grade
How long have you been playing soccer?
I’ve been playing since I was 4 years old. I started playing in a league in Norwalk. As a youngster I started playing as a defending right back, but after a while I developed into a forward and that’s where I’ve been playing ever since. I gotta say my biggest supported has always been my dad. He was always there for me, for every single game.
What is your favorite soccer memory so far ?
It was our first CIF game this year, this is where I scored a hat-trick (3 goals in a game). In the first half I scored one goal, then got two goals in the second half. I loved the second goal the most, it was tough one. Danny defended really well, he won the ball, and passed the ball to me. I ended up shooting the ball in the top right corner.
What are your plans for after high school?
After high school I plan on joining the marines. However, If I get recruited by a college, I will do that. Regardless, I want to study law enforcement and join the police force.
Who is your favorite teacher?
Master Sargent Allard, he treats us boys like sons, and he us supportive of my family. I also have to mention Master Sargent Schaffer, he always helps me out and checks up on me.
Glenn rises to the top!
Girls' Wrestling
Aaliah Enriquez delivered an outstanding performance at the Master's Meet last Friday, securing second place and earning her a coveted spot in the State Tournament! This marks her first appearance at the State level. The tournament is set for February 28 to March 1 in Bakersfield. Let's rally behind Aaliah and celebrate this remarkable achievement!
Varsity Boys' Soccer
Our Varsity Boys' Soccer team clinched a thrilling 2-1 victory over La Quinta, advancing them into the CIF Division 7 Finals! The match was a nail-biter, with our team showcasing exceptional skill and determination. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to support them; your energy was amazing, and you showed true Eagle Pride!
The team will face Poly (Pasadena) on either February 28 or March 1. A coin toss will be conducted to determine which school will host the championship. The official game details will be posted by CIF on February 24. Let's hope we have the honor of hosting this championship game!
Lastly, thank you for your unwavering support of our student-athletes. Let's continue to cheer them on as they strive for excellence and make school history!
Getting to know: Introducing Coach Dwon Drummer: New Boys Varsity Football Coach
Growing up in Carson, California, I developed a love for football at an early age. From playing flag football at Steven White Middle School to my prep career at South Torrance High School, as well as my time at El Camino College, the game has been a major part of my life. After spending time away from football to focus on a career in sales and marketing, I returned to football as a coach, and have spent the last 15 years mentoring student-athletes at both the college and high school levels.
My first coaching stop was at my alma mater, South Torrance High School. The next 12 years were spent coaching at the junior college level: West LA College, Compton College, and East LA College, where I finished my tenure as the Offensive Coordinator/Associate Head Coach. During my time at ELAC, I helped build a respected program within the junior college landscape winning a conference championship, and multiple bowl games. All while transferring over 100 student-athletes to 4-year colleges. In 2024, I coached at Long Beach Cabrillo High School, where I also had the opportunity to serve as Offensive Coordinator/Associate Head Coach.
I’m excited to bring my experience and passion to the Glenn football program. Thank you, Principal Dr. Padilla, AD Parra, and everyone involved in the hiring process. I am grateful for the opportunity. My purpose as a coach is to assist student-athletes grow within all facets of life, using football as the driving force. Because 'Great outcomes are born from great processes'. Our success at Glenn will be built on discipline, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement—both on and off the field. We hope to create a football program that our students can be proud of, and that our Alumni will support. I can't wait to get started.
