Staff and Parent Spotlight
We want to highlight staff members and parent volunteers who go above and beyond to make our school the magical place that it is.
Staff Member: Mrs. Robinson
Not only is Mrs. Robinson a dynamic 2nd grade teacher, but she has worked tirelessly to ensure that both McKinley and PACS students have incredible yearbooks. This includes gathering images, sending out order forms, organizing the cover design contest, and more! Mrs. Robinson has also put in extra time collaborating about our Mustang Mash-Up program, our SST referral process, and is an integral member of our school leadership team. We can also always count on her to take notes at every staff meeting. Thank you Mrs. Robinson.
Parent: Rebecca Hachmayer
Our PTA President has taken on a multitude of roles and hats this year, and you've probably seen her dancing in front of the school on more than one occasion! Rebecca has created a welcoming PTA, ensured our students are engaged in PTA activities during lunch, organized meetings, planned numerous events throughout the year, and so much more. Most recently, Rebecca has been instrumental in getting our Spring Fundraiser together to ensure we raise money for all of our students. The list is a mile long of Rebecca's contributions to our school community. THANK YOU, Rebecca, for everything!
McKinley's K-3 Talent Show
The K-3 talents still has room! Let Mrs. Delao or Mrs. Conway know before May 1st if you still have interest in participating. You can send us a video of the talent your child would like to do!
Thank you!
Fill out this form to participate. dates for rehearsal and the show are listed.
Water Bottles/Office Supply Donations
As the weather is becoming warmer, please remember to send your student to school with a full water bottle. They are running around in the warm weather and are in need of water. Also, we could use tissue donations in the office. Thank you!
State Testing (CAASPP)
Each year, students participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). Your child will take the following tests, depending on their grade level or instructional program:
Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for English language arts and math, required tests in grades 3–8 and 11
California Science Test (CAST), a required test in grades 5 and 8 and once in high school.
You are an important part of your child’s education. To make sure your child feels comfortable taking tests, you can:
Explain to your child that these tests are tools to help them learn, and they should not be anxious or scared.
Ensure your child eats a good breakfast and gets a good night sleep during testing.
McKinley/PACS State Testing Schedule:
May 6 - May 10: 3rd & 5th Grade
May 13 - May 17: 4th, 6th and PACS (7th/8th)
