Lothrop School in collaboration with Maclure Library obtained a rural-library grant from the Children's Literacy Fund. This grant provided the opportunity for Caverly Preschool and Lothrop School to host author & poet, Ted Scheu on Friday, May 3rd. Ted read poetry to students in dramatic tones and held their attention with laughter and fun. Students were given the opportunity to choose two books to keep forever!

Students in Fifth and Sixth grade shared their learning about the Important people and events of the American Revolution with their families on May 2. Also on display were many Early American toys and crafts; yarn dolls, candles, cup and ball games, whirligigs, quilt squares and tin punch designs.

On Thursday, students in grades 3-6 gave a fantastic Spring Concert performance for their families and friends! This concert featured 59 students playing instruments and singing in the chorus. Each group performed at least two selections, and many students played solos on the piano. Mrs. Bruce is extremely proud of their hard work!
