Dear Pennwood Community,

I hope you all had a wonderful and restful Memorial Day weekend. It’s hard to believe we’re down to just 13 days of school! As we near the end of the year, I want to remind everyone to finish strong—keep up the great work and stay focused on your goals.

A special shout-out to our seniors! Your last day of school is Friday, May 30, and we are excited to celebrate your achievements at our first graduation ceremony on June 6. We are so proud of how far you’ve come.

It is my pleasure to recognize two exceptional students, seniors Katelyn Bourg & Marco Shkil, as the newest members of the National Honor Society. In a virtual school environment, where success requires self-motivation, discipline, and strong communication skills, this achievement is especially meaningful. They both have demonstrated excellence not only in the classroom but in the way they lead, serve others, and uphold the values we strive to instill in all of our students. Both have shown that leadership doesn’t require a physical classroom—it requires initiative, heart, and a commitment to making a difference, even from a distance.

On behalf of the entire faculty and administration, I would like to say congratulations, and we are excited to see what the future holds for both of them.

At Pennwood Cyber Charter School, we believe that consistent school attendance is essential for a high-quality education. Our attendance practices are carefully designed to support your child’s academic success every step of the way.

Each Monday, attendance and truancy notices are sent out in accordance with Pennsylvania Compulsory School Attendance Laws. These notifications are part of our proactive approach to help your child stay on track and ensure they reach their full potential.

If you receive a notice, know that we’re here to help. You can:

• 📝 Submit the Resolve an Absence Form

We’re committed to working with families to overcome any challenges and keep every student moving forward.

Attendance must be logged manually using your Learning Coach account. Please ensure you are entering the correct instructional hours DAILY (you do not need to log attendance on weekends):

• Grades K-5 should enter 5 instructional hours.
• Grades 6-12 should enter 6 instructional hours.

Properly logging attendance is crucial for maintaining accurate records and ensuring your student's success at Pennwood Cyber Charter School.

Dear Families,

We hope this message finds you well! As part of our ongoing commitment to support the well-being of our students, the School Counseling Department is conducting a needs assessment to identify our students' specific interests and needs for small group sessions.

These small groups are optional and designed to provide a safe space for students to explore various topics, such as support for anxiety, grief, and developing coping skills. Your insights are invaluable to us, and we invite you to complete a brief needs assessment to help us better understand how we can best support your child.

The survey will take only a few minutes to complete and can be accessed here: Small Group Interest Form. Your responses will remain confidential and used solely to enhance our counseling services. Reminders for parents for 2025/2026 School Year Health Requirements:

• All 3rd grade students will need an up to date Dental exam.
• All 6th grade students will need an up to date physical exam.
• All 7th grade students will need 2 new vaccinations on the first day of school: the Tdap and MCV vaccines. They also need an up to date dental exam.
• All 11th grade students need an up to date physical exam.
• All 12th grade students need their 2nd MCV vaccine.
• 
  

Every school year all students need a school health screening. This can be done by your child’s primary care physician or by me, the school nurse, during the school year when screenings are scheduled throughout the school year.
