During this time of year, the Ocean City School District provides extra support to our school families in need. The Primary & Intermediate Schools are teaming together to assist this holiday season.

We’re doing great with our Ocean City Color Run fundraiser and are just halfway to our goal! This weekend we have a special challenge!

The top student in each grade by the end of the weekend will get to shop the Candy Store. Plus, we will be giving away a Lululemon Belt Bag to TWO different winners! All students earn prizes for their donations. Get started at mybooster.com!!

PLEASE NOTE THE IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW FOR THE EVENT ON WEDNESDAY!

• All OCIS Students will participate in the Color Run events even if they are not registered through mybooster.com
• During the event, students will walk / run on a course through colored powder - this powder comes out in the wash, however students are encouraged to wear clothing they do not mind getting this color on
• If you DO NOT want your child participating in the Color Run, please complete the opt-out form by clicking here no later than Monday (Nov 18) at 3:00pm. - If you opt your child out from participating, they will still cheer their classmates on during the event!

The OCIS Dodgeball Tournament sponsored by the PTA will be held this Friday, November 22nd. If your child signed up to participate, please see the information & details below for the event.

All students & parents must enter through the rear entrance of the building - entering through the Haven Ave. Basketball Courts.

Spectators fee is $2.00 per person collected at the door.

Please note there are no sign-ups at the door. A registration form must be on file for your child to participate. Forms were due Friday, Nov 15th.

THE OCIS Student Council is hosting a clothing sale fundraiser! This is a great opportunity to support our students while stocking up on school spirit wear.

The sale will run from November 4th through November 18th. This fundraiser is open to all OCIS families! All orders can be placed online at https://bsnteamsports.com/shop/RNqBPoepnA .

Items will be shipped right to your house once the sale closes and orders have been processed. All orders will be in by Christmas, so this is a great gift for the family! Every purchase helps fund Student Council initiatives and school events.

Our cookie dough fundraiser has begun! The cookie dough comes in a variety of flavors. Order yours today from any 7th grade student heading to PEEC. All orders are due November 18th and will be delivered before winter break.

Attention all 4th - 7th grader students. The National Junior Honor Society is starting their after school tutoring program which is held Thursday's from 2:20-3:20pm in room 116. Students must have a permission slip to attend and bring an assignment to work on. Our 8th grade tutors are here to help you with any assignment in any subject.

Mark your calendars! The OCIS Band & Chorus Winter Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:30pm in the High School Auditorium.

It's Time for Winter OCIS Sports sign- ups - Important New process on PowerSchool

OCIS offers:

• Basketball (Boys)
• Basketball (Girls)
• Wrestling
• Volleyball
• Cheerleading

Please note our NEW sports registration process (instructions below).

This will be completed in your PowerSchool parent account, be sure to have your username and password set up. If you need assistance with your PowerSchool account information, please contact guidance or contact the technology department at ext. 1234

• Visit ocsdnj.powerschool.com (PowerSchool App is the preferred method)

• Sign in with your parent username and password.

• Select the student’s name for whom you are registering.

• Click on Forms

• If using a browser, find in menu options, on the left

• If using PS App, find in …More, then Forms

• Once in Forms find Athletics

• Then fill out the following for EACH student participating in ANY sport:

• Athletics 1: Registration Form

• Download the blank Physical Evaluation Form to bring to doctor’s office.

• Athletics 2: Waivers and Acknowledgements

• Athletics 3: Physical Upload and Verification for Participation

• Upload your students completed physical.

All physical examinations must have taken place within 365 days of start date.

Announcements and additional information will be released from coaches on exact dates and timelines for each individual sport.

To report a student absence:

• Email: OCISattendance@ocsdnj.org
• Please state student's name, grade, homeroom teacher, and reason for the absence

Please note that this email does not excuse your child from school. For the absence to be coded as an absence not counting towards truancy, a doctor's note or other proper documentation as outlined in the district attendance policy must be submitted to the main office when your child returns to school.

Tardy / Late To School

Students receive two free unexcused lates per marking period (arriving after 7:45am). Any additional unexcused late arrivals will result in a detention being issued as outlined in the OCIS student code of conduct. Students arriving with a doctors note will be marked as an excused late arrival.
