Stevie Wonder was born on May 13, 1950. He was born blind because he received too much oxygen as a premature baby. As a child Wonder's parents noticed that he had a gift for music. Stevie made his first debut at the age of 12. Later on he started to study and play classical piano. Even though Wonder is blind he has won 25 Grammy Awards and in 1989 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Recently in 2009 Wonder was recognized with the Second Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
