Jordan/Jackson News You Can Use
May 16, 2024
Dear Families,
Robinson and Jordan/Jackson teachers and administrators will undergo a comprehensive placement process for the next school year. Our families have an important role in helping us understand their student’s needs.
As we work to streamline the process, we are utilizing the benefits of Google Forms to collect your input. If you would like to share your thoughts regarding your child’s learning experience for the upcoming school year:
Request a link to the Family Placement Letter Form by emailing robinsonplacement@mansfieldschools.com (Grades K, 1 and 2) or jjplacement@mansfieldschools.com (Grades 3, 4 & 5).
Once we receive your email request we will send you a link to the Form.
Within the Form, you will be asked to respond to a few brief questions and have the opportunity to submit a detailed response, outlining your considerations.
If you are unable to complete the electronic placement letter form or would prefer to send a letter, please email your letter to robinsonplacement@mansfieldschools.com or jjplacement@mansfieldschools.com. You may also mail a letter to the appropriate school.
We kindly ask that all placement requests be submitted by Friday, May 24.
We would like to clarify that for equity reasons, we will not be able to honor specific requests for placement with a particular teacher and/or students. Therefore, we request that you communicate what you feel is most important for us to know about your student’s specific learning needs as we move forward with this process.
The placement process includes the following:
Service providers and classroom teachers are aligned based on the proposed education schedule.
Teachers and Administrators review performance data and specific student information.
Teams will develop a list of tentative classroom assignments. Information from families will be considered at this point.
Early August: Final review of placements.
Mid-August: Families will receive placement assignments.
When developing classes, we consider many factors with input from teachers and families including academic strengths and needs, social-emotional needs, and learning styles. We strive to create environments that will support a variety of learners.
Please note that this detailed process strikes a balance in our schools among classroom teachers and various service providers that are essential to meeting our goal of providing targeted instruction to every student. For these reasons, we may be unable to change student placements after they are communicated to families in August.
Sincerely,
Robinson and Jordan/Jackson Administration

MASS HEALTHY SMILES - Friday May 31, 2024
MASS Healthy Smiles are dental professionals that provide important preventive services to children and families that may not regularly see a dentist. Their services include screenings, cleanings, fluoride, sealants against cavities and referral to a local dentist if needed.
Mass Healthy Smiles will be returning to Jordan/Jackson on Friday May 31. If your student participated in the program back in December, they will receive another screening at that time. No additional information is required from your end. Please reach out to the nurses if you have any questions in relation to the program.

Jordan/Jackson's Spring Chorus Concert
It has been a pleasure working with your children this spring in preparation for our upcoming concert. The students have been working very hard and are excited to share the joy of music-making with you. Below you will find information regarding the upcoming concert.
This year's concert will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in the Jordan/Jackson Multi-Purpose Room. The concert will begin at 6:30pm. Chorus students should arrive at 6:00 so we can arrange them on the risers and run through our songs. Doors will open at approximately 6:15 for seating.
Concert Attire:
Children will be wearing their chorus t-shirts which they received earlier this year. They may wear shorts, pants, jeans or skirts. They should also wear comfortable shoes.
We look forward to sharing a wonderful evening of music with you!

Mystery Book Clubs
Ms. Fox’s third grade class has been working in Mystery Book Clubs. Together the groups read different mystery books and kept track of clues and important characters. Once they finished reading, the book clubs collaborated to make book recommendation posters. Click on the pictures below!
Miss Keller's 4th Grade Geometry Project
Miss Keller's 4th grade class combined their study of geometry with technology. Using Canva for Education, students presented many places in our world where you can find polygons, angles, lines of symmetry, and more! Students were engaged and excited to share them with the class.
