January 2025
Superintendent's Nest
Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025! I hope this year is off to a great start for you and your family!
January is School Board Appreciation Month. Our school board members consist of Kevin Poolman, Natalie Mika, Amber Brush, Brad Wolfe, and Sarah Hogan. The board meets every second Monday of the month at 5:30 pm. The next meeting is Monday, January 13th. We do offer free childcare during the meetings. This is a great opportunity to meet the members and learn more about the operation of our school.
The PTC continues to provide fresh snacks daily for each student. They also provide hot lunches on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month. This is made possible through fundraisers and donations. They also have monthly meetings; the next one is scheduled for Thursday, January 9th, at 5:30 in the multipurpose room. These meetings are open to any parents and/or staff who wish to participate. You are welcome to donate funds any time throughout the year to help continue these projects and others the PTC funds. This month, the PTC is collecting bottles & cans that have a 10-cent deposit. Please drop them off on the front porch.
During the month of January we will hold a fundraiser for The American Heart Association called the Heart Challenge. For every dollar a student brings in they will receive a prize along with their name on a heart which will go up on the wall in the hallway. Students are encouraged to ask parents, family members, neighbors, friends, etc to donate towards this fundraiser to help students and families to learn more about heart health and CPR. Students can turn in their money at the beginning of each school day. The student who gathers the most donations at the end of the month will receive a special prize! Our goal for the school is to raise $200 for The American Heart Association this month.
Stay healthy! Get outside and enjoy nature and our beautiful surroundings!
Sincerely,
Ms. Walle

Sarah Hogan
Sarah Hogan is an education and instructional design professional with a passion for lifelong learning and community engagement. Sarah is currently the Senior Director of Learning Products for the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA), where she leads a team creating educational programs for CPAs. Before CalCPA, she spent 13 years at the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), advancing from librarian to Director of Education.
