Coyote Chronicles

Cloverdale families,
Believe it or not, we are already halfway through the school year! We have seen amazing student growth in the first half of the year and we are excited to continue with that growth over the next few months. As a reminder, students completed their Winter iReady diagnostic test the two weeks before winter break. iReady reports were sent home in your child's backpack on Friday along with a letter explaining the report. Please review those and reach out to your child's teacher with any questions. The newsletter this week is full of very important information, so please take time to read each section.
We hope you have a wonderful week!

Howler Hero's!
Each month, staff nominate one student who is modeling our expectations of being respectful, responsible, and safe. This student becomes a Howler Hero for the month and is recognized on morning announcements, with a certificate, and a badge to wear at school. Congratulations to our Howler Hero's for the month of January!
Free Be Seen & Heard Programming Resources for Parents
As previously shared, our school recently hosted the Be Seen and Heard© child sexual abuse prevention program. Students learned about the difference between safe and unsafe touch, the difference between safe and unsafe secrets and the importance of speaking up to trusted heroes in an age-appropriate, safe and engaging environment.
If you wish to continue this valuable conversation about body safety and prevention with your child, you are invited to create a free membership with Be Seen & Heard by completing the signup form linked here. By joining, you will receive a number of free resources.
Cloverdale Families Invited to Speak with Board Member at Listening Post on 1/30
Cloverdale Elementary School will host the CCSD93 Board of Education meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
Just prior to the meeting, from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., CCSD93 Board Member Marideth Groves will host a Listening Post. A Listening Post is an opportunity for community members to informally discuss topics of interest directly with a Board Member. If this is of interest to you, please stop in at 6:30 p.m. for some face-to-face time with Board Member Groves.
One School One Book
We started reading Wild Robot last week at school, and students have been really excited and engaged in the story! We want to share a few family resources with you to engage with your student at home. Additionally, there are a few places later in the book that have potentially sensitive content. Please review that document for more information. Happy Reading!
Please Take Strategic Plan Survey by 1/31!
Each year, CCSD93 gathers valuable feedback from parents, students, and staff through the Strategic Plan Survey. Your input helps us improve programs, services, and measure progress on key Strategic Plan goals.
The survey is now open and takes less than 15 minutes to complete. Responses must be submitted by Friday, January 31. Visit www.ccsd93.com/spsurvey to participate. Thank you for your feedback!
Parent Town Hall Update
Due to scheduling conflicts, we are canceling the parent town hall. Sorry for the confusion and stay tuned for more information about an upcoming date!
PTA
PTA is hosting a community event at McAllister's on January, 28th! McAllister's will donate 20% of sales to our PTA so take the guess work out of dinner and support Cloverdale at the same time!
We also have a spirit wear order starting on January 31st and running through February 21st. Please review the fyler below.
Nothing Bundt Cakes voucher fundraiser starts this week! Please see the attached flyer below for more details.
👏Staff Shout-Out
